halo, i need some advice here. My real intention is to go travel around europe. not really that much interest in UK itself alone. I apply for the visa so that i can have a permit to work in case i have not enough money. Do u guys think it makes it more difficult to get the visa if i let them know this intention? But how should i tell? if i lie, first of all, it not a gud thing, second, they may feel it. Pls advice.

if you want to get the visa, pls do put at least 60-70% travelling activity in UK, or not ur application will be rejected as previous candidate who failed due to such reason, putting too much effort in europe trip itinerary.

frankly speaking, my intention is travelling around europe, not UK, but i did alot study in UK coz I need the visa.

eventually i am nw in UK and planning my trip to Paris in near future.

all the best

simon

I wonder wat's the purposes u guys start this thread...

First of all, this is a discussion forum where everyone is free to participate in a topic to give opinions, feedback and comments (just like you've commented on my comment).

As long as you don't break the forum rules.

Ppl said no 1 wana "layan" me... its ok... I dun mind.. But just wonder since u ppl thinks its so hard to give ur opinion... then just SHUT ur mouth... I understand the feeling of ppl who raise questions here... Not they need your lectures we just want some idea & help... Not copying your things here just some sharing... If busy / lazy then ma keep quiet la... Open a thread for ppl to tells out the needs, share what u had experience there's where can learn something different but u ppl only have a thinking of "COPY CAT" HELLO!! As u all said something different officer had different questions how can we COPY urs?? Wat we want just some ideas so we can have a better preparation... Its all depends on our luck too whether the officer same as urs... So how can we copy??
I've never been in a thread like this! U ppl.. Not bcoz I'm angry.. PPL no layan me its ok... I understand maybe u'll busy... I won't care, if someone replies me I can said is a bonus issue to me for better way in future... If no doesn't make any problems... I'll still try my best to dig more info.. No big deal, can said, no bonus this time...
SUCH a HARD moments U guys facing... Just some share not some argument..

I don't understand why you keep saying nobody wanted to "layan" you. Would you care to look back at your posts and see which one was not replied? As a matter of fact, some of your questions have multiple replies. If this is what one gets in return for replying to your questions, then esthernity, travelite8, deniseong and myself have just wasted our time doing so. Anyway, we should not worry about wasting our time now since you've already inactivated your own account and won't be posting anymore questions.

I think you have to behave yourself!!!This thread is used for reference and there is no one could give you the exact answer.......Actually I don't mean to offend you,but from the words you are typing,is really really misbehaving leh...i think Hien is a patient people in the thread who used to "entertain" you alwaz, but you do not appreciate at all...Before you apply this visa, please read through all the posts there!!!Do you know that I have spend 4 days to go through all the threads here....You seem like wishing someone is there when you have any enquiries....I think UK is not a suitable place for you to go!!!Coz there is no spoon-feeding in UK,as everything you have to do it by yourself!!maybe you have friends there ba...Somemore,I do not understand what kind of answer you wish to get from us?You thought everybody is as free as you?We have to work as well!!!Please reconsider whether you are suitable for this visa lo as there is no more spoon feeding lo..No offend o...

Senior senior, don't bother about one rotten apple. I believe there are many who benefited from this thread and are very grateful. I am one of them! I couldn't have gotten the visa without this thread, I really thank them who left all the precious comments and shared their experiences. This thread is full of information. What I did was copy and paste the WHOLE THREAD in a Word file, when I need information about interview, I highlighted the word 'interview' and browsed through the whole file, cut and paste the useful information in another file and organised them in point form. That's how I did my homework. At the end, voila, I got all that I needed to know!!
However, if people keep asking the same old questions without going through the thread, and seniors have to patiently answer the same thing, the thread is just repeating itself. I wonder how can we manage the information here better??

I got an email from fco.gov.uk

What's up with this?

A decision has now been made on your UK visa application. Your documents should be ready for collection from the Visa Application Centre in 3 working days time, unless you have opted to have them delivered to you by courier.

well said and well done. There isnt short cut to anything. i spent 2-3 days reading this whole thread, had meet up session with applicants to discuss and compare our application, had numerous sleepless night doing travel itinerary googling best place to tour in Europe and UK . They can always ask question in this forum and that's what forum is al about. Having said that ,they can always refer but not copy cause there isnt any specific guideline how certain things is done - Eg travel itinerary.
To those sour grapes, dont take it the wrong way on how you get the reply - its a 2 way communication. if you dont ask stupid question, u wont get stupid answer.

Hi all,

i have 2 questions here…and would really appreciate it if you guys could help me out with it…

about the departure date…i did my online application on 28 July 2008 and have been unsuccessful in getting the online appointment date of submission until recently. the thing is, in my online application, i have stated that i would like to travel to the UK on 28 October 2008. since i will only do the submission on 19 Sep, i wish to change my departure date to perhaps somewhere in december….Is this possible? Considering that if my application is successful, i will need to give a 3 months notice of resignation…therefore i don’t think a departure date of 28 October will be feasible. if it is possible to do a change, how do I go abt doing it? or is there a way in which i could cancel off my previous application and re-submit a new online application form?

secondly, for those who are currently a WHM or was…could you guys probably share your experience in getting a job there? i have read through the previous post…and it looks as though the current job market over there is kinda tough. i wasn’t really looking for a professional job or anything upscale…something like a retail associate (which is more flexible and not so stressful) will do…plus i have an experience in fashion retail. how much pay do you think i should expect on this kinda jobs in the UK? i’m planning to save up for my next traveling plans which include Europe and the States.

Thanks in advance for your help/advise. ;)

Rgds.

I submitted my application on the Friday 29/08.

They said it takes 5 days to know the status. But it's actually more than that. I checked the online status like you do and have the same reply as you are. And I called them also useless. They said just need to wait because there's a lot of applications going on because of the new Tier 5 going to be amended in Nov 08.

Just today I got an e-mail stating that a decision has been made and I can collect my documents from vfs. Maybe you can just wait for an e-mail.

Good luck to you guys and all the best!

Hi girlie,

Regarding the online application thingie. You don't have to cancel the previous application. You just have make a new one. You can still use the email you used in your previous application. Actually I realize I made a typo mistake in my online application after submitted. I just make a new one. It doesn't really matter.
