Just curious, our visa payment will be refunded if our application is rejected rite?

No, your application fee will be forfeited. Didn't you read all the rules and terms of the visa application?

Hi Everyone,

I just attended the interview at BHC this morning. The qeustions asked by the ECO are as follows:-

1. Are u feeling well for the interview?
2. Who filled the application form and are the info given true?
3. Any documents u would like to give me?
4. What visa are you applying?
5. Why are you seeking entry to the UK?
6. What is your job in Malaysia and how long have you been working?
7. Are you going to work in the same industry in the UK?
8. Are you going to work in the UK?
9. What jobs are you planning to do in the UK?
10. Give me one place that you really want to visit in the UK.
11. Is there any thing else you would like to tell me?
12. Are you still feeling well?
13. When do you want to start your visa?
14. Your passport will be ready for collection latest by Thursday

The lady ECO was friendly but i am not 100% sure whether she is giving me the visa or not as she doesnt mentioned or said that ' I will give you the visa ' She only asked me when i want the visa to starts and says that i would be able to pick up my passport on Thursday at VFS.

Has anyone failed to get a visa after interview? Did they tell you that your visa can also be collected although they refuse the visa?

Hmm... i am not sure if i will be getting my visa ... anyone in my situation before?

Hi Ingyn, please update us your real result. From what i see here i think you got the visa. Congratulation!

I have questions. Have your proposing date to UK in your application past when you attend this interview? If already past is your visa given on the date it approved or on the date you proposed earlier in your application or on a new date you gave them during your interview? My proposing date haven't pass yet but i afraid it will coz i have no news yet.

Hello all,

I read this thread religiously. I know I shouldn't be writing in here but I thought this would calm you guys abit if not much.

I applied for a Settlement Visa (Spouse) on 15th September 2008. I didn't apply online but I did book an appointment slot beforehand. According to VFS and the High Comm, Settlement Visa's processing time is 12 weeks (approx 90 days).

Good news I got my visa on the 10th October 2008. It only took 25 days. No interview whatsoever. But I think that is because I've been interviewed by the High Comm 2 years back. This is my 3rd visa application (all granted), hence I know what should be included in my paperwork.

Anyways, I know the waiting is killing everyone. Just be patient and think positive. If your application is refused, find out why, appeal and prove them wrong. Trust me, visa refusal isn't the worst thing that can happen to you. I have been deported from UK once with no reason. I was stranded in airports for 4 days (no shower, no phone, no bed, no money - they took my stuff away). My husband had to spend more than £2k to hire a lawyer and fight for his residency against the Home Office.

Not cool.

Hi shidepp, i never been into your situation but i know how it feels. Everything is over. Now you got the visa and you will have no more worry and trouble. Congratulation!

Hello everyone,

Just an update from me... I have got my visa finally.... I am very happy but at the same time worried...haha... Well, yeah, a mix of emotion! I only believe it is true when i see the visa sticker on my passport! hahaha... So, i am flying of to the UK end of the month.

As for smilyn, my original intended entry date is 1st of Oct 2008. However, due to delays and postpond of my interview, the ECO asked me when i want to start my date so i told them the date i wanted to go to the UK. Then, when i refered back to my visa, the visa commences on the date i requested.

I met a lady at VFS office today when i went to collect my passport, she got a scholarship from Uni. of Edinburgh. She only got her visa today but the school has started a month ago.. She told me that the University required her to register herself at Uni latest by today. She will be flying of to Edinburgh later at night. So imagine... a student visa holder has to wait until the last day only got her visa... What about us? So, be calm and get yourself ready for interview.

Wish the best of luck to all WHM applicants. And i want to say thank you to everyone that contributes to the thread. You guys are great and helpfulll.

Hi Ingyn

A little confuse. You mean they give you the date you requested during the interview?

Again, congratulation. What else to worry when you already got your visa. Freedom is in your hand now. Go enjoy, explore and collect as much experiences as possible.

Hi guys,

I'm not Malaysian but this the most recently active thread about the Working Holidaymaker Visa and I desperately need advice. I'm South African and applying next week. I have everything I need and am now busy writing my itinerary and motivation letter... I've heard from some people that I should NOT state under any circumstances that I wish to travel in Europe too, but from other people that it will help my cause. Do you know which is true? I can't see why I shouldn't say I want to go to France, Germany, Italy etc. too but the girl I spoke to told me not to mention it in ANY circumstances. Wh should I do?

Hope someone reads this soon!

hi clairebe,

different country(citizen) have different approvals criteria,
i was rejected for putting traveling europe too extensively
another friend in this forum also face the same rejection.

i had friends from australia whom they put travelling to uk as their priority and got approved so maybe different country/resident has diff criteria

ciao
