About passport which expires, u may renew it at Msian Embassy in London. Sijil thing not really important....

Just bear in mind "WHM is about holidaying" ...therefore u must produce evidence.....showing u genuinely wanna travel no work 100%. So proof your income, saving, sponsor.......list some places to be visited in details, make sure u have know where u wanna live...."accomodation",

Basically its like sitting an exam.....u have to prepare everything ......

About the renew msia passport issue, is not longer u can renew ur msia passport at msia embassy in london anymore. u must back to msia to renew which was expired already.

You're not very clear there, but I believe you're trying to say that expired passports can no longer be renewed at the Malaysian High Commission in London.

This is not entirely true. At the moment, if you're travelling in the UK and you lose your passport or your passport has expired, the Malaysian High Commission will not issue a new passport to you. Instead, you'll only be given an emergency travel document valid only for a short duration (a few weeks). If I'm not mistaken, the UK Border Agency will also be notified about your situation. This is to prevent many Malaysians who tried to overstay and work illegally by declaring that they've lost their passport and get a new one, thus literally wiping off any record of their entry into the UK from their passports. Both governments are now working together to stop this abuse.

However, if you have a long-term visa like the WHM, work permit or residency, you'll have no problem getting a replacement passport or renewing it.

I'm kinda worried now.
I've submitted my application on 30th of Sept and thinking that the application will get through within 10 working days, I thought of going to US before I fly to UK, so I purchased 2 air tickets ( for me + hubby ) for 12th of Dec to US.

But from this thread I can see that the average waiting time is 2 months ++
I really hope that the visa will get approved before the 12th of Dec otherwise I have to waste my air tickets :(

The following are the current average processing times in working days (i.e. excluding weekends and public holidays) for different categories of applications. The time is measured from the day an application is submitted up until when it is ready for collection at the Visa Application Centre (or passed to a courier where applicable).

STRAIGHTFORWARD*, NON-SETTLEMENT APPLICATIONS
(TOURISTS / BUSINESS VISITS / STUDENTS / RETURNING RESIDENTS)

10 WORKING DAYS

(*Straightforward = Visa Officer is satisfied no interview or further documents required)

NON-SETTLEMENT APPLICATIONS NEEDING FURTHER ENQUIRIES (e.g. Interview / documents)
(Visitors, students, returning residents, those applying to work in the UK and their dependants)

30 WORKING DAYS

SETTLEMENT APPLICATIONS
(Spouses, civil partners and other family members applying to settle in the UK)

12 weeks

Please note that the purpose of this notice is to give customers an indication of the likely time it will take to process their visa application. These are only average processing times; applications may in some instances be ready for collection either before or after the time periods specified above.

Haiya pichu, air ticket is just a small problem. You can always call to the airline company to postpone even if you bought from travel agent. I always do that. They will charge you either more or less depend on the air fare on the day you postpone to. Your main concern should be hopefully can get the WHM visa.

Oh ya, forget to tell you that if you call to make changes on the air ticket, be sure to call directly to the airline company, not from the agent you bought from coz if you call to the agent, they'll likely charge you additional service charge.

sorry guys, can i ask something

let said i m going to apply by end of this year, but my passport expired june 2010, do u guys think that i got to renew my passport as i havent get the approval of the visa?

and also, do we need to submit our SPM cert or Sijil Perhentian Sekolah?

Since you going to apply end of this year, why don't you renew your passport first to make thing easier? Renewing passport just take 1 to 7 days. Malaysia immigresion will let you renew if you have a good reason. They will rebate you 6 months back.

Actually the school certificate is not so important in this application. This certificate is just additional information to convince the ECO that with your qualification you have no problem to look for a job to survive there during your holidays. The most important is your travel plan. Convince them that you really want to travel and explore.
