yo guys... thanks for the opinions! actually what i concern about renewing the passport is i think they will give me a new passport, i just wanna make my current passport full of stamps from different countries and also will it influence the decision of the officer for giving me the visa coz they might think i will overstay in UK as the passport is valided less than 2 years anyway, for safer, i will renew it...

sorry guys, i dun kow did anyone bring up this question before, what if the interviewer asked if you are going to travel in europe? any safer answer to that? coz the main reason of this visa is to work in UK only, we cant let them to have thoughts of we earn money in UK and go travel outside of UK... i saw pp mentioned b4 about if possible dun ever mention any places outside of UK, but some pp were asked this ques during the interview

thanks a lot ^^

yeah also, can anyone confirm the replacement scheme of this visa where saying end of nov? is this just rumours?

Here, the home office websites says it will close in november
most likely end of nov

Don't worry about the stamps, because you'll have to submit your old passport(s) as well.

You don't need to mention anything about Europe unless asked. So if they do ask you, it is safe to say that you're going there. But don't give too much emphasis on it. Short visits are all right.

No need to panic..I m applying frm India..the process is diff frm malaysia i guess..

The processes are the same for all countries. It's just that the approach may be slightly different due to the high number of applications received by the British High Commission in New Delhi. It was featured in a UK TV show recently that they received thousands of applications a month. That episode also showed how two applicants tried to cheat in their applications by submitting falsified financial documents and professional qualifications. The High Commission reported the fraud to the police who later came to arrest them for fraud.

Hi guys,

I'm not Malaysian but this the most recently active thread about the Working Holidaymaker Visa and I desperately need advice. I'm South African and applying next week. I have everything I need and am now busy writing my itinerary and motivation letter... I've heard from some people that I should NOT state under any circumstances that I wish to travel in Europe too, but from other people that it will help my cause. Do you know which is true? I can't see why I shouldn't say I want to go to France, Germany, Italy etc. too but the girl I spoke to told me not to mention it in ANY circumstances. Wh should I do?

Hope someone reads this soon!

hi clairebe,

different country(citizen) have different approvals criteria,
i was rejected for putting traveling europe too extensively
another friend in this forum also face the same rejection.

i had friends from australia whom they put travelling to uk as their priority and got approved so maybe different country/resident has diff criteria

ciao

The WHM criteria is the same all over the world. It's just that their approach is different. WHM does not have a straightforward and objective approval process like Tier1. Well, part of it is -- that's the basic requirements (financial, age, etc) which everyone must meet. Once that's met, the officer will look your application as a whole and determine if you really are going there for a holiday, or if you just wanted to work there. This part is quite subjective because it takes into account several aspects of the application, sum it up, and the officer has to be convinced. If the officer has doubts, you'll be called for interview.

As for you, Claire, don't worry about the Europe part. But you have to remember this: you are applying for a UK visa, so emphasise on UK only. It's not wrong to include Europe in your itinerary, but treat it like a side dish, an extra thing to do while you're in the UK. So if your UK plan is comprehensive enough, then adding a few (3 to 5) European cities shouldn't not do any harm. Just put list them in a "possibility" section, away from a long must-see list of UK destinations.

Hi Yummy, congratulation!
Did you attend the interview to get approved?
If so what did they ask? Is it the same questions as other forumers here that went through the interview? I just want to compare and see what is the most questions they ask and see if everybody is the same. Did you bring extra documents to show them?

I just received my HSBC bank balance certificate from US. I ask them to prepare and send it to me but it's too late when i received it. Can i still submit that when i attend the interview even though the officer told me no need to bring anything except the receipt? Can anybody tell me will they ask to show them proof how did i have the money? Actually is my family who send it to me when i was studying there but they didn't keep the bank transfer receipt anymore because who knows that i gonna apply this when i came back to Msia as long as i got the money they will throw it. So now i feel dilemma should i show it to the ECO or not.

For WHM, you don't need to have a return ticket. They can't ask you to show one anyway because it's impossible to get a return ticket that's two years away. Airlines only sell tickets up to 12 months in advance. Don't worry about it.

The officer will ask you if you have any other documents to show. So you can bring that along and explain why you didn't submit earlier.

Hi, I'm new here.

I've got the visa. Thanks for all the tips here!

However i have a question here. I'm supposed to go on 21st November 2008, due to some family matter, i can only go in next year (2009) Feb. Is it a must to go on the date stated in the passport? Will they question me when i reach UK?

Thanks for the attention :)
