i submitted my application... i hope i dun have to interview and get the visa asap, i m quite confident to myself... haha..

but, at first i requested bank statement from bank, they gave me a formal letter and they said they used to give their customer who apply UK visa and no prob at the moment, then the first time i went to application ctr, the officer told me it is better to have transaction detail, then i went to the bank again, and they printed me latest till sept, so i have to request oct and nov's at S$20 per piece , and until now, the fifth day, i still cant get it and yesterday been informed that i can only get it tmr, i dun want to wait, so i just went to the ctr today and submit the bank statement i have got, officer told me again, it is better to have bank's stamp and signature, i told her, i requested the bank officer, they said they dun do this, if i want, money agian... shit.. all money...

i dun care, i just submitted.. coz the detail statement is until sept, but the formal letter with stamp and signature stated that my lastest balance till nov... so i think it should be fine to prove my financial...

anyway, i applied in singapore....

hi aidy_ash84,

The officer told me if take back the passport, it is going to delay the application process as they will wait until you return the passport then only they process.

Well, cos I bought the ticket to Europe on 22nd Jan 09, regardless whether I know the visa status or not, I will request back my passport for the travel purpose. Then I only will pass back to them on 9th Feb 2009.

Because they are holding my passport, I miss out Kylie Minougue X Concert in Bangkok!!!!

When did you submit your application? I seriously don't know how long I need to wait!!!

hai vanessalin

i would be ok for me if it delay as my plan of travelling is next year.as long as the application not void or cancel.i just worried to waste the application fee that i've paid.if it not an urgent travel required by my company
it would not necessarily to request back my passport.

pity u.if im on your shoes it will damm frustrating moment.wonder why they are taking longer than
expected.do they really process our application or do they just dumb the application and at one point they
reject our application.since the new tier is just round the corner.just my assumption.

i submit my application on 9/oct however i was affected by their system problem occur
on that day.so i have to redo my biometric data again and my application has been put on hold.and one of the officer
told me that my application would take another more 10days to be processed and it make a total of 40 workind days...
damm

just wait and see.

Just call visa center,a letter is needed to pass to visa center ( not by email ) , state reason to collect passport , which country and when i will come back to Malaysia . VFS pass to BHC, it takes 2-3 working days to proceed , then BHC will inform me result.
I only allow to keep passport for 10 working days, then gonna return to visa centre.
VFS officer mentioned collection of passport will not affect my interview date.

I think the bank officer is one of those difficult person who don't understand the urgency of your request. Which bank was it? i experienced that too during my application. Mine was DBS Bank and i do keep my montly bank statement just that i didn't receive my last two month of bank statement and when i requested, they wanted to charge $20 per piece but i told them i didn't receive as i moved to a new address. Though he said once it has been sent out means they can't print it unless i pay but i explained to him that i didn't receive it and after much debating, there weren't any charges. Same thing, the officer didn't want to stamp and only provided me the letter but i insisted and totally ignored " Sorry ma'am, this is the best i can do, and usually for UK visa, this is the normal document provided". Somehow i was not satisfied and couldn't be bothered to argue with him. To my surprise, my hubby got it easily with POSB Bank cos we individually get it done on the same day. So what i did was, instead of going to DBS Bank, i went to POSB Bank since it's the sister's co., and yes i got the stamp and signature. I went to
Tanjong Pagar Plaza POSB outlet. The lady officer was much more easier to talk with and even wished me good luck with my application.

I suggest you get a copy of it now or if you want to save money, apply internet banking which is free then you can trace your bank statement and print it out on your own. Go to POSB if you want, perhaps Tanjong Pagar Plaza, hope you get the same lady. Bring the statement with stamp and signature on it ready for your interview, should you get call in. They need to see the verification from your bank transaction. Reason being, anyone can modify or forged the statement on their own. Hence the stamp is a must.

Hi, guys...
have u all bring any extra document to hand up in interview?
what extra document should i bring?

Follow your instinct. Bring any necessary documents that you feel is necessary or may left out during your submission to support your application.

I brought a letter from one of the company that i was working for stating my service fees. Since i am a freelancer, i have numerous money deposited to my account at a different time. I missed out one letter during my submission since i couldn't receive it on time. Before my interview, my instinct tells me to prepare it just in case the interviewer question on that particular amount. Fortunately, i brought it and she did asked me during my interview.

Trace back what you may have left out.

I was wonder, is it okay if I dint show them my side income? Because most of my freelance job is from friend without issue and it's not a big income. By the time, i am employed by a company as well.

I don't think they'll ask on each of your bank transaction unless theres quite a big figure in it which you know it will attract a question to them. Don't worry, should they ask, explained to them want you have mentioned here. As long as you have your current company's pay slip submitted, it looks fine to me.
