Been in London for almost 2 months now, and absolutely loving it. You'll never run out of things to do in here. People are nice as well.

I'm now living at a small studio apartment at White City, rental wise is £800 a month.

Both me and my husband are lucky enough to have found a job shortly after we arrived. My office is at Waterloo, opposite the London Eye. If anybody works of stays in these area, we can go for lunch sometimes :)

For other working holidaymakers who are coming here soon, I'd advise you to get a windbreaker, because it can get really chilly sometimes, and the wind here is really strong. Too bad I'd forgotten to bring mine :(

Hope to see you soon and good luck ! Jia You !

Dear All,

I'm actually holding the WHM visa whereby it will expire in 2010.

But I wish to do a postgraduate starting this September. Am I eligible to apply a Student Visa when my WHM hasn't expired?

Thanks.

Regards,
ed

Hi all,

Is there anyone here who is switching or have switched from WHM to dependent visa?
Is it possible to convert my WHM visa to dependent visa?

Hi
Asking for advise here.
Is it better to find a place to stay in SW before looking for jobs in london?
Is it hard to find jobs with live-in accommodation provided?
Coz I'll look for job in london after i return from paris in 22nd.

Hiya…

Does anyone know how to convert Malaysian driving licence into Hong Kong / Singapore driving licence?

Anyone can share how do you get the UK full driving licence without going for the theory and practical test, just by other country’s licence in exchange?

My Polish colleagues was telling the “Registration Certificate” @ “UK Identity Card for Foreign National” …

Does any one of you attended this certificate @ ID card?

You can 'convert' your Malaysian driving licence to the HK driving licence at the Malaysian High Commission. It costs a few hundred pounds, if I remember correctly. Call in to ask about the price. Not really worth it unless you're going to drive all the time and would be staying here for a long time.

I guess you've already figured out that you can convert to the HK licence and then convert to the British licence.

Beginning this year, immigrants in the UK are required to get the newly introduced Identitiy Card. How to get it, I don't know. I'm guessing they only start with those who've just entered the country.
