Hi there, I'm looking for a studion apartment to live with my girl friend in London Zone 1/2. Do you guys have any idea how to go about? I've been searching gumtree, but still nothing coming after quite a couple of phone calls and emails. I wish to move in in September. Anybody'd like to shed some light for me? Thanks.

my job hunting isnt smoothly, i sent a lot housekeeping in hotel and web design application (i used to be web design in my home country)

but none of housekeeping job reply me
and some web design job replied me but well, was rejected

feel a bit worried and upset now
is this very common?
i guess i have to go london chinatown at the end

Consider live-in care work through agency. Paid food and accomodation, but of course gotta sacrifice a little freedom for some time.. but then could save up to travel. under Homecare/special care in gumtree.

Might not be a job for all, but it's very rewarding experience for me. Agency usually gives u training, it's a good way to start.

hi all,
i'm just wondering. i've been reading that some of you just landed in UK in few months back (means in 2009) Does that mean WHM for Malaysian still can be apply now?

Hi,

The application for WHM is closed since last November. I don't know about others but for myself, i was lucky to get the very last ticket for this visa before the closing date (as no appointment available since Sept08). Unfortunately it wasn't approved so i appealed sometime in Jan09 and finally got it end of Feb09.

Hi all,

I came across this website while trying to rent out my spare room out. I can't believe what I have missed out as I'm a Malaysian with a WHM visa and I came to the UK back in 2005. :(

Anyway, I'm trully glad that some kind hearted Malaysian are making the effort in providing some valuable information to the newbies in UK. Well to all of you who are coming over soon or just arrived recently, good luck with your job search and hope you enjoy your stay here.

As I mentioned above, I have a room availble for rent and the details are as follows:

I have a double bed room in Canada Water (zone 2 - on Jubilee line) and I am happy to rent it out either on a short term or long term basis. I'm hoping to fetch appro. £130/ week and the room is fully furnished with a IKEA double bed, wardrobe, side table and a study. However, if you intend to live there for short term (in Aug & Sept), I'm happy to rent the room out even on a weekly basis. Let me know if you need a cheaper place, as I might be able to reduce the rent as the room is currently empty.

The flat is currently shared by another two Malaysian girls, one studying design and the other working for Kings College.

Thanks,

Hi everyone, i have not been on this thread for quite sometimes now. I got a lot of help from people from this thread on the 1st day i started my application for a WHM visa until i got it and came to the UK. I do hope that i would be able to help those that are looking for jobs in the UK.

My restaurant is looking for one or two male waiting staff. It is a Malaysian/Chinese buffet restaurant at Southend on Sea (45mins direct to London on c2c ). All the boss are from Malaysia and they are very nice people. If anyone interested in working in a secured, friendly and easygoing environment. Please leave me a message, ok.

Good luck for those in job hunting!

Regards,
lngyn.

Hi guys,

Any of WHM having BOC (British Overseas Citizen) passport and working for local company here. As those who have this passport they should know they are not allow to work in UK but I believe not every employer realize of this clause esp the small company because BOC passport is exactly the same as other British passport. So I wonder whoever born in Penang or Melaka before 1982 should know about BOC stuff.
