Hi kawan-kawan,
Its quite interesting to see how everyone here who applied for a WHM put in some fabulous effort - a lot of research has gone in, huh? Must be exciting to get on that plane and get off some 14 hours later in a completely different world where everyone speaks English with a lovely accent :-)

I just want to let you know that I wish I knew 6 years ago what I know now with regards to work. You guys can do so much better than working for minimum wage in a Chinese restaurant/shop/packing shelves, which in my humble opinion, might not give you the true experience of assimilating into life in the UK.

If you have worked in an MNC in KL with offices in London, or know of friends who do - pull strings and get some contacts in London and see if you can temp for them. Believe me, if you work hard it could open some doors (not a perm visa if that's what you're hoping), and give your CV and bank balance a nice little boost. Even if it's an admin temp role, it's a lot better for your experience (and self esteem) as a whole. UK is pretty advanced in terms of recruitment agencies, so go and register with a few who specialise in your field. All you need is a bit of confidence, and some "Boleh!" attitude.

You have been given the chance to come and experience life in the UK, and while the comfort of living with your Malaysian friends and deciding on whether the sambal belachan is wafting into the neighbour's flat is tempting, that's just as good as just staying in KL and renting an apt together, kan? ;)
