Hi everyone, i'm new here. I'm considering in applying WHM. In order to get a clearer pic bout WHM, I've spent some time reading through the threads, and i did! I read them all, yet i didn't really get what i want. So i'm here to voice out my doubts, hopefully someone will be there to help.

Questions:

1) I've just came back from Australia last Dec and i have around RM10k cash with me that i haven't bank in to my account. So if i bank in my money within this week and send up my WHM application form 2~3 weeks later, will i be questioned by the officer where did i get that 10k from? that's the money i earned from my part time job when i was studying in Aus. I've cancelled my bank account in Aus that's why i have so many cash with me.

2) I have only 10k in my own saving account. However, i have another shared bank account with my father, which is up to 100k. In this case, do i still need to show my dad's FD if i put him as my financial sponsor? Do i need to ask him to transfer the money to my account or i just simply show the officer the photocopy of our shared account?

3) One stupid question.. bank statement is referring to the letter sent from bank to us every month or the bank book? What i understand bank statement is the letter from bank, but i can't remember that i ever received any bank statement in malaysia can i pass up a photocopy of the bank book instead of the bank statement?

I don't have any pay slip as i'm a fresh grad and currently unemployed. Do i need to show my Tax File number that i got in Aus?

What i come into realise that it's always better to book (put down the name and address) an accommodation pre-arrival than asking for invitation letter from your friend in UK Normally the officer won't question so much if it's a public accommodation. correct me if i'm wrong.

  • phew* a long post.. someone out there who is kind enough to help, plz~~ :( i'm on my knees

NOPE. I banked in my 25k over 5 days, immediately after the money is transferred, I applied for the visa after a day. They didn't question anything. As long as your bank acc shows $$$.

2) I have only 10k in my own saving account. However, i have another shared bank account with my father, which is up to 100k. YES. You need proof of all kinds of financial evidence. you can transfer the money to ur acc or get him as a sponsor. Works both ways. But getting your dad as a sponsor requires a letter of sponsorship, his bankbook statements, his pay slip and birth cert.

3) One stupid question.. bank statement is referring to the letter sent from bank to us every month or the bank book? What i understand bank statement is the letter from bank, but i can't remember that i ever received any bank statement in malaysia can i pass up a photocopy of the bank book instead of the bank statement?

YES. Same thing. Overseas they send it to you but here, its called the bank's passbook.

I don't have any pay slip as i'm a fresh grad and currently unemployed. Do i need to show my Tax File number that i got in Aus?

I worked in the States, and I just showed my employment letter and some references that I got from my previous employer. Put in your degree cert to show credibility.

What i come into realise that it's always better to book (put down the name and address) an accommodation pre-arrival than asking for invitation letter from your friend in UK Normally the officer won't question so much if it's a public accommodation. correct me if i'm wrong.

That's debatable, but for sure they'll ask you for a permanent address. Somehow, getting a permanent address is always better compared to some temp accomodation.

felice 821:

This is a little tricky I guess. Well the best way is to transfer it to your account (if you want to). Then ask the bank officer to write you a letter stating that you have this amount (RM XX k) and show the letter with your application. However, I would suggest that a smaller amount would be good, say Rm15k combine with your RM 10k or else it would cause suspicion (since you're only a fresh grad and unemployed).

On the other note, easy and simple, ask uncle to transfer the amount into either parent's account, ask for a bank letter once the transaction is done, and produce parent's letter of sponsorship, pay slip etc. Again, be sure that the amount is reasonable with parent's income (this method worked for my friend!).:)

It is advised to explain that 10K u earned. You can use the Aus bank book to support your application. I think that would be the best.

2) I have only 10k in my own saving account. However, i have another shared bank account with my father, which is up to 100k. YES. u need to show proof of ur dad's financial. Transfer money is unnecessary.

3) One stupid question.. bank statement is referring to the letter sent from bank to us every month or the bank book? What i understand bank statement is the letter from bank, but i can't remember that i ever received any bank statement in malaysia can i pass up a photocopy of the bank book instead of the bank statement?

it could be the letter sent from bank to u monthly. or u can approach the bank to obtain the bank statement anytime. if i m not wrong, you might need to give 6 months bank statement. I prefer to give the passbook. i called the bank book as passbook. :)

I don't have any pay slip as i'm a fresh grad and currently unemployed. Do i need to show my Tax File number that i got in Aus?

any document that could support ur application, just go ahead.

What i come into realise that it's always better to book (put down the name and address) an accommodation pre-arrival than asking for invitation letter from your friend in UK Normally the officer won't question so much if it's a public accommodation. correct me if i'm wrong.

u can put any hotel's address and mentioned a list of hotel/hostel you would stay when u r in UK. Why book when you dont even know that u will get the visa.

u can get sponsor from anybody except bank loan.
but closest family is better. anyway, regardless of whoever to sponsor u, u have to write a sponsorship letter and state why u r sponsored, then show proof

Hi Kila Kila,

Can i ask u some question?
I really wish to apply holidaymaker. I plan to apply it on end of Feb 08.
If i success to get the visa on April 08, can i just buy one way tiket only. For your information,my passport will expired on 25 Dec 2009.

I have problem to write the 2 year travel plan. Do i need to plan and schedule it very clear of my travel and working? Do i need to write down the approximete burget i will spend during travel?

If i submmit all the application on end of Feb? when will i know the result.

i am very worry about this.
I really wish to travel to UK.

Is it compulsary to write a travel plan? I've never prepared any travel plans for my application ...hmm.

Yen, they are pretty fast - if you don't have to go for an interview, you will know within 2-3 days. They will ask you to collect your passport.

If you need to go for an interview - maybe 1-2 weeks. You have to wait longer if its close to public holidays because they don't work. I've waited for like 2 weeks to go for the interview and I was being informed on the spot whether they will grant me the visa or not.
