i have a friend who has just quit her job to apply for WHV, do you think it's a good i dea to mention that in the application? due to the company policy to have 3 month notice, she'll have to decide early. do you guys think this will effect the eco view on that currently she is jobless? she has sufficient income and proof of employment from a well established international financial institution(last job).

Dear all,

I'm newbie and i assume i'm still a noob for WHM though i've been reading through mainly all 580 posts.
I'm gonna submit my application next week and honestly, i'm sorta anxious.

I have an invitation letter air-mailed to me from a friend together with his tenancy agreement and letter of acceptance for his master degree. But unfortunately last couple of days ago, my friend moved out to get a bigger place preparing for my arrival. So, in other words, it's an EX-tenancy agreement. I couldn't submit the new one because it was prepared in Chinese and i'd need a translator for that.
You guys think is it okay if i still submit the ex-tenancy agreement because as heard, should the officer needs verification, they'll contact my friend, and not the landlord, right?

I'm preparing my funding documents. I'm sponsored by my parents and I'll be submitting the passbooks from my dad's savings account (around RM80k), dad & mom joint-account (around 15k), and my newly-opened savings account with RM20k in it (transferred from my dad's account). Will that be sufficient?

Do i need to submit S&P if the property is under my dad's name but it's actually for me?

I seriously need help in the Planned Itinerary section, since lotsa applicants mentioned this travel plan is crucial to see whether the visa is approved or rejected.
Anyone by any chance still keep their copies in the computer that can share with me please?
Thank you so much.

Thank you so very much for reading through. But I'm urgently needing feedbacks from y'all the pioneers. Thanks again.

Hi

First of all thanks for helping everyone out, you guys are doing a great job. This forum has really helped to me to get a good idea about how i should make my application

I am about to apply for the Working HolidayMaker Visa and would like to clear a few doubts. Any intput/s or advice is highly appreciated. I have the following questions:

q1) If its important to submit a cover letter or if one is called for an interview, is it a good idea to mention the following: yes or no and why (I've already studied in the UK and am a frequent traveller)
a) I wish to go to the UK to gain and acquire new skills and increase chances of my getting better jobs in my country
b) I wish to learn more about the culture
c) I wish to visit places I havent already visited

q2) If I am called for an interview, how will I prove to the immigration officer that I intend to come back after 2 years and only work for a year? Is stating that I will come back as my family is here and i just want to holiday for a while before i come back to my country, find a permanant job and settle, enough to convince them?

q3) Is it a good idea to travel to the UK 5-6 months before your visa application/interview?

q4) These are the following docs I intend to submit with my application, could you please check and let me know if this is fine:
a) Passport
b) Education qualifications
c) Bank sstatements and other related papers
d) Rough plan of how i will manage money when i am there
e) Travel plan
f) Cover letter- why i plan to go to uk
g) Open return or one way ticket if necessary
h) Job print outs if necessary
i) Letter from my father supporting my decision to go on a WHM visa, stating that he is paying for all the expenses etc.
j) Letter from friend and her house agreement to invite me
k) Past and present employement papers
have I missed out any other document?

I am sorry for asking so many questions :(. I dont want to take any chances and be called for an interview. I would like to apply for the WHM Visa as soon as possible and will be obliged if someone could please answer these questions.

I am very very nervous and hope i am not called for interview . I will be highly grateful if any of past members who are already on a whm visa could email me their travel plan, expenditure plan and letter of why they want to go to uk..please..i am very very bad at this and this will help me to get an idea. Sorry to bother and thank you

the invitation letter is good, IMHO the ex-tenancy looks good enough if the date are still valid(when it ends?) as this show you had also plan for your accomodations

I'm preparing my funding documents. I'm sponsored by my parents and I'll be submitting the passbooks from my dad's savings account (around RM80k), dad & mom joint-account (around 15k), and my newly-opened savings account with RM20k in it (transferred from my dad's account). Will that be sufficient?
funding wise i think is sufficient, maybe you could also include how are you going to use the fund. 2k for air tic, 5k for food etc...

Do i need to submit S&P if the property is under my dad's name but it's actually for me?

I seriously need help in the Planned Itinerary section, since lotsa applicants mentioned this travel plan is crucial to see whether the visa is approved or rejected.

as this is the most crucial part, the best person to help you is still yourself, you got to do your homework,
for me my plan is simple:
Jan-Mar London
Apr-Jun Work in London
Jul-Aug Manchester
Sep-Nov Work in Manc....

then i elaborate where and why i am visitng places i mention above in another page.
as everybody has different plan, it is not wise to follow others. in case, if you're ask for the interview then you will not have any problem answering all the qs. this plan also give yourself a rough idea of what you're going to do in uk when you arrive.

Thank you so much.

yes, all these shows your intention to go there is to travel

q2) If I am called for an interview, how will I prove to the immigration officer that I intend to come back after 2 years and only work for a year? i told them also why the trip/travelling will help me in my future job in malaysia

don't understand this q

place to stay in UK, at least for the 1st 2 months/upon arrival

you should know the best yourself why, where, how you are going there. do a bit more homework like most of us did then you're on your first step tp WHV, why not send to others to review your plan and letter before submitting. as one of the seniors had done, convince himself, convince his friend and even convice a stranger before submisson

Hi Taigra thank you for your answers, I am so grateful :) My question 3 is that i travelled to the united kingdom around 5 months back and i am about to make my application now..do you think i should not have travelled to uk just 5 months back before applying for visa? Or is it ok if i went for a visit? Also if i am called for interview, the officer will ask me why i went 5 months back right? so wondering whether it was the right thing to do or not and what i can say

I do plan to do my homework because without hard work there will be no result but i am quite bad at this so just wanted to see how people have made their travel and expense plan so that i can get a rough idea because places that i want to go to and what i want to see might be very different from everyone else..If i could just have a look at how someone has made theirs it would give me a good idea and then i can make mine and show to others for approva. thats why i please need helpl

Dear Taigra,

Thanks a bunch for getting back to me in such a short period.
That helps me out a lot.
I'll be frequenting this forum until I get my visa.
I'm actually waiting for my documents to reach anyway as my dad is air-mailing it from my hometown.
I'm still working out on my travel plan.

One more thing, as I'm using my dad and mom as sponsors, thus I'm submitting their passbooks instead of mine. I read, I should actually attach my dad's monthly income. Can I attach the 2006 Income Tax E-Filing instead of payslips, as he is doing family business. He doesn't have 2007's as it is not due yet.

From your reply, you mean I need to put in 'working (in whichever)' in my travel plan?
Do I need to work it out like accommodations that I'm planning to stay at, such as budget hotels? Where to get this info? I'm searching through the internet of the cheap hotels and obtained their address and contacts, should i put them all in my travel plan as I didn't even book the place or might not even stay there?

Now I've probs in Financial Planning section. Is it a rough idea how much I will spend on a particular place? And should I list down what places that interest me most (eg. Manchester - Old Traford)?

When I finalized my docs, can I personally mail it to you for you to screen through just in case, as in my Itemised Docs? If can, would you kindly message me your email address or msn.

Thanks a lot Taigra, you have no idea how much a success of application I need. Am I worrying a little too much for my next Tuesday's submission?

Regards.

Dear Taigra,

I'm sorry that I've forgotten to answer you.
The Tenancy Agreement ends on October 17, 2008.
That means, it's still valid legally, but my friends actually breached the contract.
That's not an issue, is it?

Regards.

Hii everybody,

thank you for much for the help and info posted in this thread.

finally I get my visa:):):)

thinking back, actually it is not so difficult as long as you have done your work with heart and effort.

For travel plan, it plays safe to emphasize more on UK journey instead of other Europe country. I did get alot of info from the website, especially

http://www.visitbritain.co.uk/

which recommended by a british internet contact

Just keep the plan simple and convincing.

there is a lot festival held in different area. Mentioning that you are interested attending the function might be an attractive point besides visitng historical building, gaining lifestyle experience, understand different culture...

hope it could provide some little help for those who is applying the visa.

BTW, I decide to leave in May or June. I still yet book any ticket

hopefully could meet up some travellers for better understanding and sharing before leaving

hope to hear you all,

have a nice day

regards,
simon

U need to work out ur expenditure plan. Like RMxxK of your saving + income from UK job must be enough to cover your 2 year travel or less.

I seriously need help in the Planned Itinerary section, since lotsa applicants mentioned this travel plan is crucial to see whether the visa is approved or rejected.
Anyone by any chance still keep their copies in the computer that can share with me please?
Agree with taigra. A simple and convincing will do.

Instead of mentioning common places to visit, mention about annual event or festival depend on your location for any particular date, that's how you do your homework.i.e. if you are in Manchester in December, mention about event to do during christmas, where to countdown, name of ice skating rink. Plan properly. Otherwise, you might end up skating during summer. :). Timing must be right.

if your intention is good, then say what is in your mind.

q3) Is it a good idea to travel to the UK 5-6 months before your visa application/interview?
nothing wrong with that unless the VFS says so.

I am very very nervous and hope i am not called for interview . you are too early to be nervous. if you are keen to go, then do your best. application is only a small portion but plays an important part. Fail the application will fail your entire UK plan. Agree? Prepare well your documents that would score an A!:)
