Yeaahahh... we have gotten our visas!!!
So fast.. We submitted last Thursday (15th May) and I checked the status online on Monday night and found out our docs are ready to collect on 19th May by the way it was a public holiday. We are so happy..

My partner will go by the end of this month with his family.. I plan to fly on 30th June have not bought air ticket and I will travel alone.. anyone will go during that time?

I surveyd few airlines and so far the best I got it is Etihad around 2.2k for one way. Anyone knows any cheaper air tickets than Etihad?

To Pop,

All the best to you, I hope you will get the visa soon!

Dear Bes,

1. has anyone ever used their courier service to send back their passport? just wondering how safe it is coz I am not from KL and it would be very inconvenient for me to go back to the centre to collect it.

yes, I had assigned ABX, the only courier service assigned by VSF. Actually in the 1st place when submitting the visa fees, you could include the courier service charge together and the officer will do their job. But in my case, I intended to collect myself that time, but then I found out that I cant take my leave. Thus I separately send another bank draft with RM20.00 to them with address detail. The officers there is quite helpful, but they have no name, labelled with number only. The officer who is very helpful that time is officer No.6

I hope i could reli help in this matter

regards,
simon

Dear aena,

you could try this website

http://www.kayak.com/s/flightprogress.jsp?searchid=ZsVW6vIm2CzIul4_ax8V

they will screen all the airline around the world and list down all the flights according to their airfare.

it is a very helpful website.

BTW, I had book the Kuwait airline for about RM1700+ for one way including all the taxes, but i tink i had to postponed my flight as I had pneumonia, doctor advise me to adjourn my trip. but when I check on other flight in Kuwait airline, alll the fare has been increased to RM2000+.

Thus with my doctor letter I hope could refund back the money in full if they need me to pay more

then I found out that Sri Lanka airline also offer low cost fare, about RM1700+, maybe you could look on it

all the best!

regards,
simon:)

p/s: all the 2 flight mention is not direct flight, need to change plane at dessignated airport

Hi, im new here :)

im planning to apply WHV by next month mid of june
but currently i only got 10k in my bank as my saving
wil this affect alot on my application?

By the way, how to write cover letter? any example?
pls guide me any1

most of them says 15k is best, but if you can work out a very good budget to prove that you can survive there for first few months, that should be able to convince. Bear in mind not to stress too much on work (you may mention easily available jobs that will allow you to travel more).

Good Luck.

hello, everybody!

Being new here, I have a few questions I hope someone will be kind enuf to answer:

1. has anyone ever used their courier service to send back their passport? just wondering how safe it is coz I am not from KL and it would be very inconvenient for me to go back to the centre to collect it.

2. if I scheduled an appointment date and failed to keep it, will I be barred from scheduling another next time? Can I schedule an appointment two days b4 the actual day?

3. does my bank statement/bank book have to have 3 months transaction history? or will just the accumulated amount do?

and lastly, is it safe to say that status of application will normally be updated in 2 days??

Thanks. Getting all excited ord by just reading ur posts and I haven't even applied! haha...

2. If think you may direct the question to the officers at VFS, you can call up to ask. But don't be absent without prior notice lor... if you really can't keep the appointment date, should inform them.

3. I think 3 months, mainly is to show that the amount of money is not transferred to you temporary to show only.

update of application status differs, some waited long, some fast. Mine is 2 days after.

Simon,

Thanks for your respond.

I know about Sri Lanka Airline.. but a lot of my friends not recommended Sri Lanka Airlines due to the country conflicts (Tamil Tiger etc) and the ticket price quite similar with Etihad RM2.2k.

I have checked few airlines such as Qatar, Gulf Air and Emirates which is not that bad either but if you can get 1.7K that’s really cheap I’ve ever heard as of now. I aware these airlines are not direct flight.

thanks once again and get well soon..

Dear Aena,

I think u concerned on terrorism right? I think it will not be a big issue, sometimes it reli depends on your fate and luck. London did face terrorist attack a few years back. Actually right now, nowhere is safe, I believe. Just have to take care of ourselves and be careful.

Tamil Tiger conflict has become a long term issue. Thus I believe the government has taken stern action to protect the foreigners :)

Maybe you could try out kayak.com I recommemded to find out other airline offer

Good Luck and have a nice day

regards,
simon
