Hello everyone,

First of all I want to apologize for being completely out of touch from this amazing forum..I had to go out of town straight after my whm visa interview and havent really had access to the internet.
Just wanted to let everyone know that i got my whm visa yayyyyyyyy :) I would like to thank everybody here and a very very special thanks to zawa for helping me out in a big way and making this visa possible for me..I would have not got it without your help zawa, and I am very very grateful. This forum and the people here are amazing and I just want to thank everyone once again. If there are any questions or anything that I can help anyone with, please do lemme know.

These are the following documents that I submitted:

1) Passport
2) 2 recent photographs
3) Letter of confirmation of financial support from my father
4) My father’s bank statements for the last 6 months
5) My father’s income tax papers for the last 3 years
6) My travel itinerary
7) Letters of support of accommodation from 3 friends in the UK along with their tenancy agreement/mortgage and/or council tax papers.
8) Print outs of the kind of work I wish to take up to support my travel and other expenses
9) My educational qualification certificates
10) Letters as evidence of past work experience from previous employers
11) Letter as evidence of current employment from my employer
12) Letter of confirmation of job placement when I return to in 2010
13) Provisional one way e-ticket to the UK (as no flights offer return tickets valid for two years)
14) Inquiry print out of flight back from the UK (example of how I’ll be coming back to malaysia in 2010
15) Photocopy set of all the documents

The questions I was asked in my interview:
1) Have you filled the application form?
2) How long do you intend to go to the UK for?
3) How much money do you have for your trip?
4) Who will be supporting your holiday?
5) Which places do you plan to visit?
6) What kind of jobs do you plan to take up?
7) What will you do once your working holiday maker period ends?
8) What are you doing currently? working or studying?

The important part is that i had the proof to support all the answers i gave to all the questions i was asked. I think as long as you have that you dont need to worry.

I really hope this helps everyone to get their visa and go to the UK and experience a whole new world. If anyone wants to ask anything, please do not hesitate, I am more than happy to help.
Thanks to everyone and especially Zawa once again :)

I'm wondering, do we need a Biometric passport to enter UK? Cos my passport will only expire in 2011, I won't want to waste money to do one now....

I presume you're a Malaysian since you posted on this thread. How is it possible that yours is not a biometrics passport? The Immigration Department has been issuing that type of passport for more than 5 years.

Anyway, to answer your question, no, you don't need a biometrics type passport to enter the UK. :)

urgent people.
what's the best way to find permanent accomodation in london, online or in person when u arrive in UK?i'll be having my interview after 2 days in i'm worried they might ask where i'll be living.for starters,i booked a place at piccadilly hostel for 15 days.but what next after the 15 days.please give ideas!

google gumtree, roombuddies, flatsmate. you will find a lot. require a lot of phone calls and viewing the house(must view).
interview 2 days upon arrival is abit rush in my opinion. unless you know how to move around. make sure you plan your journey first. good luck

Hi all, thanks to this thread that I am here in the UK already.
I just arrived 5 days ago and I'm settling down in Sheffield with a room rented.
However, cash is running low and stuffs over here is quite expensive and I need to save for another places around the UK.
I'm still jobless. As this is my first time doing this, I have no idea of where and how to get a job though I've already emailed my CV to job agencies in the UK and visited them personally.
Anyone can help to get a job in Chinese restaurant or any other places without tax?

Cheers,
edt

5 days and you are running low in cash? sounds unbelievable
Going through agencies take time. To work in a restaurant is easy, you approach the restaurant you want to work in like BurgerKing, Nandos, or even chinese restaurant. rarely advertisement is posted. you wont even know they r hiring people urgently. To work in UK, you need to apply National Insurance(NI) number. So better go get one whether you are looking for job or already got a job, office or restaurant. Some reluctant to hire you if you dont have NI. you will lose your opportunities. Of course you will be taxed, but you have no choice, but most chinese restaurant wont mind. You got taxed because you are not jobless. Better that way, no??

I don't understand what is so hard in making a travel itenerary. It's supposed to be just a plan of places you'd like to visit. It doesn't even have to have the exact dates. Simply list the places you want to go, the estimated time you'd spent there, in days or weeks, and the season you plan to visit, whether spring, summer, autumn, or winter or whichever months. It's that easy! So list out the places in the UK you want to visit and start making a travel plan on your own. Research a bit if you have to. It's not hard at all. The internet has all the information you need. This document is just to support your application and convince the officer that you really are going there to travel.

One more thing can you tell me what were your answers for these questions.

1) Have you filled the application form?
2) How long do you intend to go to the UK for?

Why do you want others' answers for? Their answers only applies to themselves and certainly do not apply to you. Give your own answer based on your own situation. There is no right or wrong answer.

Once again, the interviewer needs to be convinced that you really are coming to the UK to travel, experience new culture, have enough funds to support yourself for the first few months, and will return at the end of the programme. Nothing else. How you do it will depend on your own unique situation. And don't post your answers here, as none of us can tell you if the interviewer will be convinced of your answers because many other factors are taken into account. They are the ones who decide whether to grant you the visa, not us.

does 'photocopy of ALL documents' include photocopy of VAF2 form and WHM supplementary questionnaire? or is it just the photocopy of the supporting documents?

Thank you in advance!
