Haha, thanks travelite. I'll be looking for fulltime, you have any suggestion? I see, there isn't any advertisement for vacancies posted and we can actually walk in. Cool. I haven't seen a Burger King in Sheffield yet. I can apply for NI without having a job yet? I went to the centre and a lady told me to get a job first for NI application. I have been bulled again huh. And you have any idea of how to open a local savings account? As I heard we need correspondance address. But my cousin told me HSBC allows passport savings account with 6 pounds per month as charges. I'll hit HSBC tomorrow though.
Yeap, I rather be taxed.

Some reminiscence, you helped me out while I was in the midst of applying the visa. And now you got back on me. Thanks a lot mate!

Hien has given complete details about it. So I shall keep in short and certainly agree with Hien.
To apply for NI, you have to call Jobcenterplus to make appointment whether you are looking for job or already working. It's up to you. I would suggest you to apply while you are looking for job, in my opinion, always be prepared.

Yes, you can open HSBC passport account with 6 pounds a month charge, you need to proof your Msia address (IC or driving license), please bring your passport as well.As for regular account, you need proof of address(utility bills or bank statement). All banks are very strict on this. In this case, you can get your landlord to put your name in the utility bill. I think this is the simplest way. I did.

Hi everyone,

I've been reading the word "sponsor letter" and i dont quite understand what it means. If the person sponsoring me is my parents, then does it mean they have to write a letter saying that they are sponsoring me?

Also, if i have little money in my savings account but show my dad's FD, is it sufficient? Or does the funds need to be in my savings account?

It seems quiet these few days...

Anyway, I've submitted mine on 10th June and still awaiting the results. Regardless the outcome, thanks for all the advices posted. By the time I applied, it felt like I was already a veteran in WHM application.

hallo all!
Good to see got so many people apply WHV, I'm sure I'll accidentally meet some of you guys in my journeys. Which is GreAT!!

Anyways, I got a question ask on behalf of my friend.
If an appeal is successful and is approved without interview. How long does it take for the process of sticking a visa into the passport take ?

Curently my friend passed his passport up and the officer there ask him to wait for call to him to collect his passport, he wants the visa to start in July 1st, so up to now, his passport is with them for 2 weeks and the travel date he wants to go to UK is so near and we all are getting worried.

He has e-mailed and called them, but no one can help. Has any one has the same situation? If so, please let me know. We just want to be sure he can get his passport before the 1st july so that we all can buy the plane ticket.

Lalalamb..

Same case as my partner.. He applied 2 weeks before depart as he has bought air ticket earlier during last matta fair. He managed to get a visa as requested. If all your docs in order and fulfill the basic requirement.. I think shouldn't be a prob. We got confirmation within 2 days without interview. He is in the UK now as he went first in end of May.

By the way, I am flying to Heathrow on 1st of July by Kuwait Airlines... what about you guys? Have you bought air ticket?

i'm a bit surprise also...i was refused and appeal and i got the visa in 16 days(i called them 2 weeks later and confirm they have received and processing) ...they called me it's approved and to resubmit my passport to vfs centre and two days later to collect it...so u got to check wiff vfs if it means traveling to wisma mca
