if possible, try to avoid the interview.i mean have all documents in order,so that u r given visa without interview.i think 4 this type of visa, finance is most crucial follewed by honesty.i had the longest interview ever.the guy interviewing me wasn't friendly at all.he asked me almost all questions in my appl form and counterchecked.....i was loosing hope already.after interview he told me to bring latest bank statement n then he would make decision.i thought that was it,but he gave me the visa.my visa process took more than three months.so don't give up!
i have a belief that no one hates you,so nobody would just want to hurt you.prepare docs carefully.don't be in a hurry to submit.things like air tickets are not neccessary to include, that might even show that u r desperate.and u could even loose money if they don't give u visa ontime.but they usually give.
and remeber this is the last year for WHM visa,so hurry to apply.
good luck 2 all.
i arrive in london 7th july.plz help with finding accomodation.i've found some hostel already but would like to get room/flat share as soon as possible.

well i guess there's no short cut to the application...unless u have friends to give u advices...like US...ha ha...don't be afraid to let others know what u are submitting...if u need help...but don't ask for sample this sample that...tell others what u are submitting and let others give u advice...

well, for room/flat...for me i love hostel hopping...just another choice if u don't mind sharing room with 6 or more ppl...though i had not done much just 3 in 3 months but i really don't see the need to get a permanent place to stay yet...cos if i were to take up a place then i will be stuck there for at least 3 months...(unless u get a good deal not to have minimum contract)..in a hostel u get to know lotsa ppl around the world...good bad and ugly ha ha...i thought that is why we apply fo WHV...hostel hopping also let u hav a chance to 'visit' different places...when choosing hostel look for those with kitchen facilities and shared lounge...then u got place to chui sui...and for me most importantly WIFI to update fellow TPers and keep on helping others ha ha

however if you want more privacy and aleady settledown(got a job) then u'll hav to get a flatshare...my advice is not to take up a room until u know where u r going to work.
traveling (in the tube or bus) is NOT FUN...and it's expensive too...so don't rush
there are lots of flatshare around but again like when everything u do to apply WHV u got to have GOOD FRIENDS or do a lot homework...

good luck

see yaa soon

Hi Guys, great to found out this thread. I am also applying for a WHM to UK this August2008. Now researching and gathering information from you guys. Really envy at those that have gotten their visa and set foot in the UK. Hopefully i will get my chance soon. hehehe...

Just a few questions after reading the posting from this thread..
1. I am planning to enter UK middle of Nov, would it be alright to apply now (Aug2008)?
2. After visa is granted, can we postpone our date of entry as different from the intended entry date from the application form?
3. Do we need to photocopy each page of our saving passbook and passport?? Anyone have done that?

Thank You.

Regards,
Linda

Hi,

Can enyone please help me ?

I applied on 19th, June from Singapore, till now no info. from them.

I submitted :

1. travel plan (one way ticket, hotel accomadation for 4 days & wrote in travel plan that "I will stay in youth hostel")
2. Bank statement (17000 SGD balance), I wrote in travel plan "I am planning to carry 21k SGD as I will get salary of another 2 months as my travel date is 14th August)
3. Salay slips (5200 SGD per month)
4.Offer letter from employer

I am an indian working here on employment pass.

Can anyone please help me what will happen in my case ?

I heard if any interview is required, they will inform within 5 working days otherwise process time takes 5 working days only.

In my case, neither I get visa not call for interview.

What can I expect. Looking forward for your replies,,,,,

Thanks & regards,

Hiya,

Is there a difference if i show my money in savings or FD?
Reason being, my parents are going to transfer money to me, so not sure to put it in FD under my name or put it into my savings account. Please advise...

You have to specify what date you want your visa to start. This date can be up to three months away from the day you submit your application.

2. After visa is granted, can we postpone our date of entry as different from the intended entry date from the application form?

No.

3. Do we need to photocopy each page of our saving passbook and passport?? Anyone have done that?

Only the first page (account info) and the last transaction page (containing your latest balance)--both on one A4 page, if it fits--and get it certified by the bank (your home branch).

As for passport, only the first page.

I think because you're not a Singapore citizen, they will need more time to do some checks and might even have to verify certain things with their counterpart in India. Do they have any number that you can call to enquire about your application?

Hi,

I just submitted my application online! So relieved!
But now I have a problem. I went to the link for schedule appointment but there are no dates left in July and I can't select any dates. Seems like I can't book any dates in Aug as it only showed July. So what should I do now? Log in everyday until there's an available date on the screen? Is there any chance for me to be appointed in July? Will they email me if there are dates available in end July, when the applications are not so congested like now?

I think I'm still unsuccessful in my application as I don't even get a chance to do my biometrics!
Pls advise.
