HELP - FOOD?!

Travel Forums Round the World Travel HELP - FOOD?!

Hey! we're two students (UK) about to leave for a RTW trip. But we have no idea how much food is gonna cost!!
We're going to the following places: Paris, Rome, Athens, Singapore, Sydney, Auckland, Honolulu, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Toronto, Washington D.C., New York.(look on -snip- for the dates and length of time we're in each country)

So how much should we budget for food each day? Since we're Uni students, we dont mind eating cheap stuff, or buying a big bag of rice between us and sharing that with some tomato sauce for a week!!!?!

Any help would be awesome! thanks!!

It depends. Choosing to stay in youth hostels with cooking facility will be cheaper. In the cities you mentioned you will probably not pay much more then in the UK. Athens will probably be the cheapest. If you are on a budget you better not eat in restaurants in these countries. Better prepare it yourself or eat junk food all the time;)...

Lucky guess...probably 3 to 6 pounds per day (you can do for less)

Like I said. I think GBP 3,- to GBP 6,- per person. Personally I could manage for less then that.
