Biting fish!!!!!
Oh God. I was hoping that my 6 year old daughter can swim, in the pools.
Do these fish cause serious injuries, when they bite?

Just want to bump this, back to the front page, just in case somebody who has something to say has not seen it yet.

oh no , not serious injuries. Usually it's just a little chomp that doesnt pierce the skin. some people got blood flow though...ahhhh! haha, they don't tell you until you'r already in the water (khoa sok does tubing tours)

Thanks Henna Jade

And, I read something about blood sucking leeches, in Khao Sok. Yuck!!!
Were there many, and did any of them attach themselves to u, and if so, how did u get them off?

well, we didn't really hike into the depths of the who knows. I didn't hear anyone talk of them though. We went to Chow Laan Lake afterwards and they have a cave tour there....people were getting leeches there. They said they were like long skinny worms and you could sort of knock them off...ewww. hahah. I think you can just wear long pants and closed toed shoes and not worry about it too much.

Hello Henna Jade

I sure feel better, after reading your post. The SE Asia on a Shoestring book, gave me the impression, that the leeches are just waiting for the next bus load of travellers to arrive, so they can jump on them, immediately.

I am not all that keen on hiking, so I should be safe.

Is Khao Sok anywhere near Bangkok? I have 2 more weeks stay here in BKK and I will go check it out for you Mel if it is a taxi drive away from here ;)

More like an all night bus trip Zachary. But, from what I have heard, it is worth the effort. I will be going there in May. But if u do go there first, make sure to post your opinions here.

But, if u want a recommendation, for some place, that will only take a few hours to get to, have u been to Kanchanaburi? I was there the last time, i was in Thailand. It is a lovely little town, and interesting world war 2 stuff to visit there too.

Or what about a 1 hour trip up the river, on the passanger boat, to visit foreign prisoners, in the Bangkok Hilton? They love to chat about the outside world, with travellers.
