Sounds like a simple question, but it's not that easy when you filter it by BEAUTY.
We often use to like places because we had fun or made friends there.
To take step aside and to stay objective is not easy, but I wanna try.
So my BEAUTIFUL are:
- Paris (France)
- Vienna & - Salzburg (Austria), and at least 10 more in Austria.
- almost every place in Italy, hard to choose, but still Venice is nu one.
- Granada (Nicaragua)
Andre (my husband says): Sienna (Italy), Granada (Nicaragua), Paris (France), Salzburg (Austria)

Totally agree! Not exactly with the cities because I haven't been to half of them, but with the BEAUTY aspect. Some might say London or Berlin and although beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I can not say they are pretty cities. Same applies for Barcelona for example. I would be tempted though to include cities with a great setting, like Cape Town, San Diego, Hong Kong or Melbourne, but not totally. Cape Town itself for example is not beautiful at all.
I replied years ago with a small list and it's slightly different and longer now I guess.
- Tallinn
- Vilnius
- Stockholm
- Prague
- Havana
- San Francisco
- Lisbon and Porto
- Prizren
Cheers
Mike

The problem is that most of us just can name cities we've visited. Of the places I've been, I'd say:
Vancouver, Victoria, San Fransisco, Tallinn (the old part), St. Petersburg, Suzhou (China), Athens (around the Acropolis, especially in the evening), Edinborough, Rome

My favourite city was Cape Town.
But I think a lot of that has to do with the experience you had there. If you were there with cool people, with good weather, etc then it will be remembered well.
If it was pouring with rain, and you had a bad experience, then you wont like it.

hhmm.... I've been in some places in Europe, US, Middle East and Asia. so far, my best bet is UK due to its long history. UK boasts a huge no. of castles, palaces and impressive stately homes in various states...
