kcann has indicated that this thread is about Malaysia

I will be traveling to KL in March. Looking for someplace else to visit for some relaxation. What would be the best place for this? Langkawi, Pangkor Island, Kota Kinabalu, someplace else?
Thanks!

To what degree of relaxation are you looking for. If you really want to relax I would suggest Cameron highlands. A quite place in the highlands mainly on vegetable farming also there are some tea plantation and farming related thing. Life move at an easy pace there in the highlands.

langkawi is really quite boring, except that it has cheap beers (duty free)?

i went there a couple of years back (i'm malaysian myself) and found it all a bore.

the beaches arent great either. u can go to other islands that are famed for their beaches, coral reefs, blue seas and clear skies. to name a few:

tioman
perhentian
pangkor
redang
aur

cameron highlands is a very nice place too. u can get up there by coach, and arrange for someone to pick u up at the bus terminal (i think some hotels will pick u up, u need to enquire) but u need to rent a car (or get a guide with vehicle) to get around the place. walking is pretty much impossible at the highlands.

malacca is worth a stop. a small slow town about 2 hours bus-ride/drive away from KL, it has many historical sites to see, if u're interested in those. also, there are many quaint shops in town, along narrow streets, and u can easily spend a whole afternoon walking along the rows after rows of old shophouses selling all kinds of things, and even art galleries.

enjoy urself!
