Hi,

I would like to know whether I am allow to work as full time with holidaymaker visa? i have 2 years visa, allows to work less then one year as the body will count (i dont know how it works?) do i need to report to the body in certain time or how. I know i am allow to shift to work permit under some rules and regulations.

Also, is that easy to get a job in UK with valid visa? how much they pay usually? 5 pound per hour still?

I plan to leave on 2 April as my visa starts on 9 Feb.

Quite excited but also a bit worried.....please advise if anyone of you have experience before.

Hi June,

Im Shilaa from KL. I just realised a couple days ago the working travel visa banned has been lifted. Wow...it's good to know you've got it.

I'm actually planning to apply for it now, i hope im not to late as my flight is on 29 March. Would like to know how long did it take u to go through this application process? From the submission date to the interview and from the interview to knowing if u have got it or not?

I believe we are allowed to work full time for 12 months out of 24 months. 5 pounds??? It really depends what kind of job are u looking for and also where about in UK will u be working....it will also be easier if u have a degree.

I'll post u more info...let me know futher on yr working plans...

Cheers!!
Shilaa

no you cannot work here on a tourist visa, this just gets you legally into England. You would need to apply for a proper working visa if you are deciding to stay here. Why don't you contact the British Embassy? It is their job to help you out, yes? I would strongly advise not to find work here without a proper visa, because if you were caught, off you go back to KL! Or, at least you would if we had a functioning I-S.

Hi there,

As far as I understand, once you start working, you will be paying taxes and that's how they know you are working. You don't have to report to anyone other than your employer.

Regarding looking for job, your visa is a valid working visa so, from that point of view, don't worry. When it comes to, how easy is it to get a job, I suppose the first question one will ask is 'what kind of job you are looking for?' At the end of the day, employers employ people according to their ability not their appearance (if you know what I mean), at least that is true in the UK for some companies.

Hope this will help. Good luck and enjoy your trip to UK.
