Starting from Oct 2006 they say you cant enter Thailand without an ongoing ticket out of the country. Ive booked my ticket in to Thailand but travelling overland to the surrounding countries for 7 months so dont have a ticket out of Thailand.
Ive posted a Q about this before but im still so worried that they wont let me in.
Has anyone been to Thailand sinse Oct 2006 and now without an ongoing ticket?
If so please get in touch as im worrying!!
Also they say you can enter Thailand only 3 times. Im getting a 2 month visa to enter my first time then will i be able to re-enter three times after that or not? Will it be just 2 times?
Ive asked the thai embassy but they just waffled about a load of stuff and i didnt understand a thing :-( Going on my own is worrying me enough without worrying about if they are going to send me back home!!!
I think you'll be fine. Most countries have that sort of ruling. As long as you can show them you have a ticket to somewhere else, you'll be fine. They just want to make sure you aren't going to end up a Thai farang gringo..
I would imagine someone with a 1 way ticket to thailand with no other form of return to get some heat.
You can get a 2 month tourist visa more one month extension, you can do it once again
then you could have a one month visa....
the first visa could be get from your country, the second one from a country close to Thailand.
No i think your getting the wrong idea, i am only staying in Thailand for 2 months so i can get a tourest visa for that. The problem is getting in to Thailand in the first place without getting turned away for not having a flight out of the country after 2 months.
Has anyone done this sinse the new rules took place?
London-Bangkok one way and then Hong Kong-London one way as a return flight in 7 months time, even if they asked for proof of onward travel that should suffice. I think before October 2006 the visa requirements also said that you needed proof of onward travel, and I wasn't asked for it on any of the 3 times I've been to Thailand. Have a great trip.
We flew one way from India on Dec 26th with no onward ticket. No problems.
I've just finished a huge trip over there and went in and out of Thailand 4 times. It's not a problem and they never ask about an ongoing ticket!
You just need a valid visa if you wish to travel to Thailand on a one-way ticket. All the info is here - http://www.thaiconsul-uk.com/
