Aussie83 has indicated that this thread is about Canada

Hi
I am looking to be in Whislter for the ski season of 2004/05 and then want to travel to Europe. I am wanting to get a Eurail pass for Europe but if I buy it at home before I leavce for Canada I only have 6mths to validate it ............. a bit too restricting for my liking! My travel agent says I will be able to purchase the pass in Canada with my Aussie passport. Does anyone have any idea how much it would cost to buy from Canada? At home she has quoted me $1444.00 + booking fee

Sorry, can't help with cost in Canada. You should easily be able to buy it, but providing you leave enough time for postage, you can always cheat. Buy it over the phone in Australia from Canada. Give your Australian address, and then get somebody to forward it on to you in Canada

Hey Aussie!

I don't know how long you want your Eurail pass to be, but you can get good deals (for travellers under 26) at www.travelcuts.com. These student travel agencies can be found all over Canada, and you can even book your pass online.

You have some options when choosing your Eurail pass, like the number of countries you want to see and the number of travelling days you want on your pass. You can purchase a 5 country/15 day Eurail Selectpass for 762$ (CDN) plus I imagine some booking fee. This however limits you up to 5 countries. If you want to visit more countries, you can get the Eurail pass which allows you to travel to any of 17 countries. You can choose time spans of 15 days, 21 days, 1, 2, or 3 months for consecutive day travel, or 10 to 15 days of travel anytime within a 2 month span (these are the flexi passes). The cheaper youth option gives you the flexibility of destinations in a 2nd class train. The prices in the Eurail Youth passes range from 568$ (15 days) to 1590$ (3 months), and the Eurail Flexi Youth pass goes for 669$ (10 days in 2 months) or 880$ (15 days in 2 months). All these prices can be found on the website for travel cuts, under the Buy Online tab.

I hope that helps!

Tamar
