I am visiting Yosemite National Park for 2nites at the end of April 07.I was wondering if there is camping available at this time of year. Also do you think i could get away with sleeping in my car, or is there park rangers who patrol the area for things like that????? Just looking for cheap alternatives to the expensive hotels i have seen on the net.
You should be OK in April. The popular parks really fill up May through Sept. I am going to offer a few tips via PM.
You can camp in Camp 4. April should be a good time without it being too overcrowded. Since space is limited I would call about making a reservation. Camping is the best way to enjoy Yosemite and by far the cheapest. I would recommend staying an extra day or two if it fits your schedule. Yosemite is incredible.
If you did have to stay at a hostel, I highly recommend the Yosemite Bug. www.yosemitebug.com
Low rates, great place, restaurant, and lots of travelers.
