I need some advice. My boyfriend and i are planning on going to america in the summer for 2weeks. 4 years ago he got a violent and dissorderly charge, he never had to go to prison and hasnt had any other charges. Will he be able to go?

Hi hows it goin?

As far as I'm aware you should be OK but you will have to acquire a visa via the US Embassy (in London if you're in the UK I think). I would recommend checking the US Embassy website. They have all the requirements on there and I think it will confirm what I've mentioned above as well as provide you with downloadable info packs/forms.

Hope this helps

I would have to say "probably not".

Canada and the US are much the same and a friend of mine had his license suspended for 24 hours, wasnt charged with drunk driving or anything and had a heck of a time getting into Canada. His offense was 30 years ago when he was a college kid !

I do know that anyone with a criminal record cannot travel from Canada to the US so I am assuming that applies to everyone. Check it out with the US consulate or embassy in the UK to find out for sure.
