Im planning going into the Carribean from Venezuela to eventually end up in Cuba.
What are the best suggestions of doing this. Im aware there is boat transportation from Jamaica to Cuba but it looks like flying is the only option from Venezuela to any of the islands.
Anybody know of any other ways of doing this
I don't really get the question : if you're travelling from any Caribbean island to Cuba, unless you're an inveterate seafarer who has time to spare, best way to go is fly; ditto from Jamaica. There are 52 international carriers flying to Cuba.
If you're a US citizen, the "Land of Liberty" prohibits its citizens from travelling to sovereign Cuba so if you want to avoid leaving traces for the US ImmigraCIAon (Cuba does not stamp passports, anyway), check this page (among many others on the subject) :http://afrocubaweb.com/travelcuba.htm
As far as what you can bring in, Cuban customs has an info page here : http://www.aduana.islagrande.cu/faq3.htm
You say you are aware of boat transportation between jamaica and cuba, but as far as I know there aren't any connections by boat between Cuba and any other country. Since a couple of years there are some cruise ships who make a stop in for example santiago de cuba, but i guess you don't have a skin that has to be ironed already, so that's not really an option.
From Venezuela, it's possible to travel by boat to Trinidad, Tobago and on to several islands like Dominicia, St. Lucia etc etc. Maybe you will have to get one flight or so on BWIA for example but most of the time there are regular boats. Although haiti might give a couple of problems travelling by boat or overland.
Anyone from here has some pictures posted on their web sites? I'd really like to go to Venecuela and other Latin America countires and would like pictures taken by you not by some professionals as they tend to show only nice and beautiful sides of it. -snip-
