Just a few Q's... I'm heading to Queenstown... what's the best way to get there... should I fly to Christchurch airport and take a bus/train? Or is there a closer airport with a handy domestic flight?
Price is important and time not so important, so the cheapest option would be awesome.
There is a local airport at Queenstown
check Air NZ and other airlines for a timetable
presume you are thinking of June onwards ?
Queenstown has its own airport but seeing as it's not a main centre it can be a little expensive to fly into. Although if you're booking this far ahead you may be able to find a bargain. Otherwise, there's so many bus services for Queenstown that you'll be spoiled for choice, and be able to find one that suits your budget, enquire at the nearest information centre when you land in Chch or whereever, and they'll be able to give you a full list of options. Intercity is one I can recommend, as well as Wanaka Connexions
Thanks for the help... looks like I might take a domestic flight from auckland... how can I go about finding a dirt cheap flight?
And yeah, after June.
My friends and I are planning a snowboard trip to Queenstown later this yr also...
So far we are pondering around August, Flying into Christchurch from Adelaide, Aust. and hiring a campervan to drive from there to Queenstown area.. is it a good idea?
Any advice on anything related would be fantastic!
Any info on the best time of yr for boarding down south, best mountains to go riding, where to stay and what else is a must see whilst in Queenstown..
