Anjuna - White Negro - very clean and the people are absolutely lovely, about 300rs last year for double attached shower
Palolem - Cozy Nook (right at the north end of the beach), about 1500rs (but this was over christmas, it won't be that much now I don't think...) for double attached shower
BTW, be careful what you eat and where in Goa, I was pretty sick on several occasions and so was the person I was with.
Does anybody know how long it takes to get from the airport to Palolem in a taxi and how much it will cost? Also a taxi from Paloelm to Anjuna? I was thinking of heading straight down to Paloelm then maybe going north for the market in anjuna on the wednesday. Any suggestions on whether it would be worth it to go from paloelm to anjuna and then back to paloelm? I only have one week you see from sunday to sunday and unsure how to spend my time there. Thanks for all the info its really appreciated, I have heard a few people mention the Cozy Nook so I will be heading there probs. Anyone got any suggestions for drinking / eating in Paloelm and Anjuna? Anyone tried the massages? Is it possible to rent bikes and explore?
In Anjuna theres a place at the moain crossroads which you will encounter if you go there. There are loads of bikes for sale around there. For lots of the rest of Goa you can ask in your hotel and no doubt they'll know somewhere to rent a bike. Again, Ordo Sonsar (sp?) on Palolem beach, right up at the North end (the island end) and over the tidal river. Its set back from the beach and the noise and has excellent Goan food - The best i tried in goa, and the cooks are well known to be great and theres a small bar there which is really nice for a slighty more relaxed drink. Tend to be good friendly people staying in the huts around there and others who come down to the bar and for food so its a nice atmosphere.
