Quoting dr.pepper

I understand your point of view, but I believe it is acceptable for people to believe that they are right and others are wrong.
For example, did you just think that what I said was incorrect?
Aren't we having this discussion because you think I'm wrong and I think I'm right? :)

I respect every opinion or believe or whatever point of view. You say how you think about the issue and I do my part. I am trying to actually discover the similarities. Because all the branches and different idea's lead back to a source where every confusion is gone, vanished. Atleast that is my personal vision;).

No doubt. I respect your opinion as well, I just don't agree with it. :) Yes, there are similarities between your perspective and mine. But there are also differences and there's no use pretending these aren't there.

Same goes for religious beliefs. There are very obvious similarities between Christianity, Islam and Judaism, for example. But there are also major differences. To say then that we all believe the same thing is problematic, to say the least.

what dont we agree upon?
i want to know where the differences lie ...

can anyone tell me 5 differences between islam and christianity, except the fact that our pray methods are different and we hold some different imagery or not in front of us when bowing ... ?

Christianity claims that Jesus was the son of God and that through him and him alone can man find his/her way to heaven. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the distinct impression that Muslims would not agree that.

hey dr. pepper ...
the one thing where all religions clash is how we portray our gods ...
even when u say that through him alone can u find heaven .... isnt that what everybody says? everybody has that one pious man who they follow ... and basically it is about following his piety, his footsteps that we would get heaven ... it is not abt following that man really ultimately ... it is about doing good ... doing the right thing ... havent all the men who have been sent to preach telling us the same thing?
as for christian belief that Jesus is the son of God .... yes, we muslims do deny that .... we believe that Allah is the only God, neither does He have a father, nor any son .... He alone is the greatest. but simultaneously, we do not reject the status of Jesus ... we believe in Jesus as much as we believe in Hazrat Muhammas (pbuh) .. because he is the messenger of God ... and Bible is the book of God ... we believe this ... because Quran tells us so .... but we also believe that Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh) is the seal of all prophets that came to earth .... he is the last prophet .... and Quran the final and perfect version of God's words ... it has not been and never will be changed ... not a single vowel can be shifted from here to there .... it has been the same eversince it was revealed to us .....
and Bible has been changed ... it literally has versions.....

so basically
besides who we worship and what image we have of him, as i said previously, what differences are there between islam and christianity? if we forget the word religion for a second ... what difference is there between u and me?

I'm not sure I understand... You freely admit that we worship different gods and that our image of him is different... Seems like a pretty major difference to me...

u see dr.
no matter what type of architecture we walk into .... we are going in there to pray ... to find peace .... but who stand at the alter head .... is what is different ... this is a mere tangible aspect ....
what other difference is there between you and me?
do u accept theft and i dont? isnt everything else the same?
i feel that this alone is the difference that we have certain heroes and good men in our own places and cant stand anyone disrespect them ... when basically all hold same value ....
i whole heartedlty accept and respect Jesus ... because my God tells me that he was His messenger ... and He sent him Bible ....
but he also says Bible was changed and the words arent the same anymore ... so he sent Quran .... in a different time period ... and ebcause Jesus was there no more ... so he needed another man .. and that was Muhammad (pbuh)
it is all just one story really .... Jesus was sent to spread the word that one God ... Muhammad was there for the same reason as well .... then is christianity and islam something that us humans have created to create chaos? in heart we are for the same God ... we all believe He is the mighty one ... then what is the problem?
doesnt your Bible indicate the coming of Prophet Muhammad ? i know it does ....
have you ever hear Dr. Zakir Naik speak? hez a good speaker ... founder of the IMF foundation ... try to get your hands on him. hez a medical dr by profession .... but has good knowledge over all the holy books of all religions ...

Wouldn't it be so much better if we just accepted other people's beliefs

I would certainly accept them and their beliefs, if religions were not interfering with the laws of the state and the development of womens rights.
