Hi Everyone,

My gf and I are starting off on our traveling adventures and our first stop is Prague. I have to be at a work thing for a few days before our adventure starts and I was wondering if anyone knows any good hostels close to the HILTON (that’s where the work thing is on).

I have located the address of the Hilton, and it’s Pobrezni 1. I can find that on a map - but i can’t find a hostel that is close (well that maybe to the fact that I have no idea about Prague - or the various locations in the city! )

Can anyone recommend any places close to the Hilton?? Perhaps half way back to the square or something??

Thanks in advance! :)

Hello FreshieRaz

When I am booking hostels, on the web, I usually print out a map, that goes with them, which shows exactly where the hostel is.
So google hostels prague and compare maps. The Hilton probably have a map on their wesite, to show exactly where they are.

I was in Prague 2 or 3 weeks ago, I stayed in "Beta Pension". you need to take the tram to get to the centre, but it's really really cheap, clean, and the staff are very friendly. It took me 10 minutes with Tram number 18, from Jaromírova Street to Charle's Bridge

Alright "Sheila"

i lived in Prague for about a year and I know the Hilton well, not because I could afford to stay there but because it's quite famous. It is fairly central. If you want cheap accommodation that is in easy reach of both this hotel and the tourist parts of the city, look no further than the students' accommodation dotted around all the city. for example, there are loads of them in the Hradčany district/"Prague 6" near to the Castle. click onto
www.ujop.cuni.cz/page/en/info/ubytovani_strava.html for more info.
however, it is pretty sparse. For something a bit better, click onto www.praguediscounthotels.com. if not and you really want to impress your missus, why not beg, work loads of ot and see if you can blag a night or two at the Hilton?!!!

Hi all,

Firstly, thanks for all the replies!

I will do some more research and see how I get on... Its so daunting when you start looking - so many hostels, so many streets - and absolutley no idea where one is in comparison to the other!!!

I will get there though... eventually!

P.S If you see the Ozzie couple sleeping in the gutter dont be shy - come and say hi!!

Anyway, Freshieraz

The public transport, in Prague is good. U dont need a hostel, so close, to the Hilton, do u? Wont any city center one do?
Also, have u looked into appartments, to rent per night. Some cities have them. Since there are 2 of u, it might not be more expensive, than renting 2 hostel beds. Recently, somebody told me, that these appartments can be had, in Budapest, for around 30 Euros per night. Maybe, it is the same in Prague.

yeah Budapest is cheaper than that for long term even. Me and a friend got a huge 3 bedroom apartment for 200 dollars a month, in a nice central area. just have to really look around and make connections in Prague to find such a place. But hostels are more communal and fun, meeting people and sharing a night out is worth the time spent I think.
