Take a look at Fly Zoom. They often have flights priced at $250 or so, each way. They're the cheapest airline I've found from Canada, by far. Let us know what you find! I'm curious.

You can probably take a train - we did from Luton to Heathrow, so there must be something from Gatwick too. I'm sure someone on here can help with that!

I forgot to ask: where are you catching a connecting flight to? Zoom also flies to Paris for about the same price. You can take one of Europe's low-cost carriers to your next destination - I think many of them fly out of more out-of-the-way airports like Gatwick.

Try booking Zoom through Paris and going to Frankfurt from there. Zoom flies in to CDG, so it should be easy enough to catch a connecting flight. Good luck!

You wrote Montreal was ok too - what now?

BTW, 90 USD from London to Frankfurt is a rip-off. On May 17, London Stansted - Berlin Schoenefeld is available from 47 USD on. Often the flights are much cheaper.

See www.skyscanner.net for all your options. You'll have to search a bit for the cheapest options, but the prices usually can't be beaten.

very little distance between gatwick airport and heathrow airport...there is direct and arranged coaches from both airports, often people have to travel from one to the other in order to make a connecting flight. its only 1 hour by bus, get a taxi and you do it in half the time.

it just depends on traffic.
