Yep Roskilde is the place you want to go to, it's mad, insane, such a great atmosphere, people from all around the world and probably the best bands ever as well!!!
Be sure to bring a tent and to be able to recognise it because you might lose it since there are so many people and tents:)

they show you more or less where you can put it and then you see with the neighbours

Personally I prefer Glastonbury Festival in England. While Roskilde is pretty amazing, Glastonbury is just by far the best festival I have ever been to. Great bands, and so much more!

Hey there.

Roskilde is great fun...if the weather holds. You can go to for lots of info. This year The Who and My Chemical Romance are some of the main events, but rumour has it that Metallica and Smashing Pumpkins will also be playing, however, this has not yet been confirmed.
The warm-up starts on July 1st.
You may want to buy your ticket in advance. You can do so on the web site. The last few years the festival was sold out before July, as far as I remember.

Have fun:-)

i just bought my tickit!!!! im soo excited now:)

whats the story with alcohol as i do fancy a refreshing beverage occasionly lol;) can you take your own stuff into the camp grounds or do you have to buy it all from the bars ?

are bars plentyfull?

how close is the festivel to the center of roskilde?

are my belongings relatively safe in my tent?, i know you can store your bag but i wouldnt mind keeping a few things in my tent too

You can bring all the alcohol you want to the camping ground, but for the concert area you must have whatever alcohol you bring in a plastic cup or something - I guess so you can't throw it on stage.

There are plenty of bars and places to eat although it can be difficult to get anything when you're at a big concert.

The festival is not far from Roskilde - you can walk there and buy supplies, but be prepared to wait in a loooonnggg line at the supermarket :)

I don't really think you're belongings are very safe anywhere. I certainly wouldn't leave anything important in the tent. The first time I was there I had a tent completely destroyed. I would buy a cheap tent that you don't intend to bring back home as it will quite likely be ruined at the end of the festival.

The place is a bit crazy and quite disgusting if you're not adequately drunk - but otherwise great fun
