... Out of curiosity, is there any way of finding out at anytime who has which title? Obviously i can search for individual members, but trying to work out who is what at specific times can be tricky, especially with some people periodically changing user names just to confuse me!
In a kind of long round about way, i came about the idea of having an automatic overview page/list. Thus:
Admin: .....
Mods: ..... (with relevant forum listed by each name, and, potentially, individual bribery requirements)
[ideally, the names would also be made interactive, taking you to their profiles]
Guru's: (probably an alphabetical comma seperated text string)
Respected Members: (probably an alphabetical comma seperated text string)
Then list the other ranks in order, but with a simple tally of number in that category in it.
The Gurus, respected members and list of numbers in the lower categories could be updated automatically as they change (or perhaps more bandwidth friendly, once a day) to keep it up to date and so it's easier to work out who is who.
Potentially, a list of, say, the top 10 posters (or similar) in terms of number of posts could also be added. In addition, you could have stuff like links to the blogs/pages about "who is behind TP?" and "How did it come about?" and "just how many more of these flippin Daams brothers are there?" plus the rules/regulations.
I've been toying with the concept/problem for a while, but never got around to formulating a proper idea or chucking it out for people to comment on. Basically, i peridically come across Guru's/Respected members/mods (in one case) or people with lots of posts who i've never even heard of, which makes me feel just a tad sheepish! Having an overview page would help me keep track!
