Tingo - Sorry, nowhere near Chicago. May be in Bruxelles Sunday though Can't we tempt you to Dublin as well in September...?

Nikki - free translations?! wow! Would that include Czech to Finnish... (please)?

Biscuits - I hope your not ramblin. you should be sitting down. And Kbh - Hamburg is easy-ish in the train. Approx every 2 hours, odd hours at xx.47 (with a 4hour gap around lunch). Journey takes 4.5hours, but includes a swanky 45min ferry journey in the middle. I do it frequently, and it's not a bad trip. Normally lots of people to talk to, some stuff to see and stock up on duty free alcohol on the ferry if your running low... Some coaches as well.

If you've got time, go one way and come back the other (via Jutland), which takes a bit longer, but you get to cross some cool bridges, and see more of Denmark and Germany.

Shopgirl - what's wrong with you? It's perfectly normal language

if i could speak them i'd try but well i'm a bit carp at languages, i have basic french, german, italian and am trying to learn dutch and failing miserably, my 'friends' keep teaching me some phrases I probably shouldn't learn at the start

Annie - cool, so far theres you , me, Rich, and maybe biscuit,..... we must have freaked out the rest....

145. Posted by shopgirl (Full Member 136 posts) 12y

maybe

Obviously biscuits and gelli are into stalking and the wig scene...

Now what have i done???

Btw - i would n't worry about the not speaking part. I've got at best a dozen words in each, and i can tell you that none of beer, spirits, kebab or cheers are in the stuff i'm trying to translate.

My languages are pathetic as well.

But, and this could be funny, we should try and have a conversation entirely in Dutch. Mine is, um, not quite as good as it really should be....

a whole conversation in dutch, emmmm can i pass till i learn more, so far all i know is happy birthday, some football insults , and a song for my boyf's fav team (Feynoord)....

we could speak a bit in italian, actually on a second thoughts all my foreign language skills are about football or the weather, damnnnn

are we still dressing up in wigs etc... cool...

Italian virtually non existant, but my Dutch is essentially random words and football talk to, so that's fine with me!!!! But a Feijenoorder?? Oh dear.

Have forgotten all the other stuff i learned there, and it wasn't much to start with, so if you wait until you've learn't something else, you'll be well out of my range Alstublift!

Nothing wrong, i suppose, and is one of the big 3. But he's probably just glory supporting ;)

Good luck with your Dutch lessons. Strangely, you'll probably have more luck than me because your in Ireland. I did it in the Netherlands, and it was hopeless. You can not get the locals to speak Dutch to you when they realise you are British!!! :(
