Howdy folks,

Ok, just checked on that conferences dates and guess what, it ends on Saturday the 18th of September. Typical.... it's in Madrid so kind of hard for me to make it to Dublin from there and if I was able to make it, it would only be for the Sat.

How about a week later? Or, alternatively, what about Madrid?

Hiya,

Madrid for me would be hard that weekend but Dublin the following weekend is still grand.......

Could happily manage Madrid that weekend if that was the plan.

Personally, the weekend before (10-12 sep) in Dublin would be better than the one after (24-26) for a couple of reasons. Also, it would prevent any chance of me moping round and generally feeling crap on the anniversary - I'd much prefer to be doing something different, although i know others may feel differently and not want to do much.

Could probably do the 24-26 in Dublin if everybody else wanted it though, but would just prefer not to have to go back the same way for a third time in 2 weeks - Eurostar etc is bl00dy boring (and not cheap)after the first couple of hundred times, and 6 (or potentially 8) trips from Sweden to the UK in 2 weeks is not high on my list of priorities

Raven - That shouldn't be too hard to arrange. there can't be many people called Arjan living with somebody called Nikki in the city, so easy enough for us to all turn up their without you knowing beforehand, so you wouln't get into trouble.....

Oh, and Katie (RE #79), that's more true than you know.

Start of last week, my left shoe fell apart. Managed to scrounge some Duct tape (asked first person with Canadian flag on backpack i saw) and now have a sole made of duct tape. Now home would make sense to throw shoes and buy new ones. But too lazy/stupid for that, so probably now have one duct taped foot for the next several months (until it starts raining too much to work anymore)

Steph - ok, I do now admit that Duct tape can be used for something useful, and not just the stupid/bizare ideas i'd come up with before. Have to go and buy some, me thinks...

Hiya Rich,

hahah actually I do know another Arjan with a Nikki................ but so I don't get into trouble my Arjan is about 2 metres / 6ft 5 with blond hair, whereas I'm 5ft 5 with black hair, total opposites ................ now its not my fault !!!
;)

For me though Sept is quite busy and broke ( saving to go to Egypt in Oct / Nov) so unfortunately looking at my budget at the moment i'm kind of stuck in either Ireland or UK for that time........... but the weekends themselves are pretty flexible........

ps : great idea with the duct tape.....

Hi everyone,

Well, looks like it is not going to happen for me.... sorry about that, I really wanted to make it!

The reason is a wedding that I had forgotten about and that is right around that time. That, and the conference combined don't make for a good combi, not to speak of cash :(

On the other hand, Pete and me will definitely throw in a case or two of beers for the brave souls who dare meet each other in person!

hello children. Glad to see you've all been playing nicely whilst I've been trying to get my s..dding computer to work properly I think it's run on steam....

Dublin is best for me rather than Madrid - much as I'd love to go there - could do 25/26 Sept - will be in real good mood - am going to see Raphael Seddique at the Jazz Cafe in Camden the day before
