I presume the £500 does not include travel tickets.
In that case u have enough money, to go just about anywhere. I would choose maybe the Black Sea Coast, in Romania. The weather will probably be OK there, in June or September.

purdy is going to hong kong for 5-7 days???

wouldnt be assed...2 long flights just for a few days? hmmm havent been to hong kong myself but want to go...

plus for the huge money that you spend on the flight could be spent on something else...like extra spending money on your holiday...

Maybe reading read Purdy's post would have been good - she found air and hotel that fit her budget.

Have a great time, Heather - send post cards!!!! (I wonder if they have sheep post cards in Hong Kong...) ;)

I was going to suggest Cuba or somewhere in the Caribbean - but Hong Kong sounds even better! Oh - why, oh why do flights over here have to be so expensive?

Sorry - I'm diverting the topic by pouting. Congrats on the find and have a fantastic trip!

me know! i cant read every post in a thread! but then how many people do...but then i should have.

hong kong is good apparently but very expensive so im told...eastern europe would have been better...short flight and very very cheap. but for 5 days...were one will lose 2 days of been stuck in a plane isnt worth it. plus time zone difference if any at all.

That doesn't matter, you will win the time back on your flight back to europe...leave at 2, arrive at 5....

Cheers - glad my trip has caused so much comment! No expedia has flights from London to Hong Kong & a 3 star hotel for £501! It is a long haul flight but that dont worry me - we went to Beijing for the same time last year, San Francisco year before!

Im a bit of an airmiles collector too so it has to be a star alliance carrier so we will pay more to fly with a certain airline! I know this isnt everyone way of booking flights etc but its our personal choice! The extra spend pays off in the long run - our flights to Australia & New Zealand this year cost us £200 over Christmas when usually the are about £1200 each so it works out eventually!

Not booked yet cos Paul says he has to have a think! He's not one for making a spontaneous decision (even though lm paying for this one for us!) Still l hope to get it booked by end of week!

Cheers y'all

Just book it, pack Paul in the checked luggage and let him out when you get there. Oh, hand him a martini immediately so he's not too grumpy about the cramped "seating" in the cargo hold.
