Hey I just wondered how you would go about receiving mail from back home when you are in Oz? We leave in two weeks and are going for a year. We are going to be travelling around quite alot and obviously we are going to celebrate birthdays and hopefully Christmas out there. If we havent got our own apartment/permenant address how do you receive stuff from family members?

Hope someone can help me with this.

I think there are other companies that do the same sort of thing so it may be best to have a google just to check out the others, they may be better.

Hi Gem,

i used POste Restante service all around the world and it's great! Just get your family to address something to you like this:

e.g. Hayes, Gemma
POSTE RESTANTE
Central Post Office
Street Name
District
City
Country

Most countries will hold it for a period of up to 3 months. Depending on where you are there is a small charge. In Chile there was a basic fee of 400 pesos per item for example, but that could have been from a postcard up to a big package. Here in NZ they will hold it free for 2 weeks and then charge $2 a week or something. It varies from country to country.

Its extremely efficient and safe. I would really recommend it. :)

Hope that helps,
E;)
