Hi,

Im planning to travel to Oz early next year. What i could do with some advice with is that i am debating whether to take a digital camera (which i already have) or take a standard 35mm camera?

Basically how easy is it to transfer my images from my digital camera when im on the road, i.e. from your personal experience is it practical and do internet cafes (or simliar) allow you to plug a USB cable into their computers? and could you give any other advice that could be relevant?

Thanks for any help in advance..
Gaz

Hi Gaz,
Yep, you should easily be able/allowed to plug a camera into the USB ports on most Internet Cafe PCs.
I thought they might not like it, so didn't take a digital at first, but then we bought one in Hong Kong before we went to Oz. Good job, as scanning prints works out really expensive.
Good 'net cafe "chain" in Oz is Global Gossip, with places in most cities - a few in Sydney. Not bad price too, and the machines were fairly quick.:)

Thanks Stevie,

Can you remember what operating system most internet cafes use? As i know that with my current digital camera, can be auto detected via the usb port (i.e. the computer does not need to have the camera drivers)

when did you travel to OZ?
