Is it possible to arrange a trip to Easter Island from either Chile or Peru as I would really love to go there but my RTW trip doesn’t include it? :(

Yep, but only from Chile! Expensive flight (don't know the exact price).

I take it there are no boatrips?

Just thinking if there was it might reduce the cost?

I'm positive there is a regular mailboat service from Valparaíso, but I wouldn't know whether they take passengers along, and at what price. Best head down to Valparaíso to find out, or have a look at the port authority's website (in spanish).

hola, there are flights from santiago, the price depends on how early you book your flight - between 800 and 1500 usd. i think that the boat trip lasts really long so the price might be high as well. and the island is pricey too, nice though, but could rain a lot...

I made this trip last year. As I travel on single flights, it wasnt incorporated into a RTW fare and I got it online with for $500US. I met people who paid less and more for their fares so it really just depends on how early you book I suppose.

I know that if you are flying from Chile on to NZ you can stop in Easter Island (if you have a OneWorld ticket) so it might be worth checking that out.

The flight from Santiago takes approx 4.5/5 hours. Your best bet is to book online as that's where you'll get the cheapest fares.
Easter Island is a fanstastic place and I felt that they money I had to pay was well spent. Its an expensive place once you get there. Food and accommodation are not cheap.

If you need any help with anything let me know. I can help you with places to stay and airport transfers and so on.

Two years ago were i on the same trip as you're mention. You can do this on a One World ticket, normally issued by British Airways or one of the partners in One World Alliance.
As one of the other said, the prices varies a lot, but count on that it will cost you 550 to 700 us dollars one way. The only carrier that can take you to Easter Island is LAN Chile, and only in two directions. From Santiago and to Tahiti. And of course opposite. There's none direct flights with stopover on Easter Island between NZ or AU.
If you're considering hireing a boat of some sort, keep in mind that it's about 3000 km kilometers from the shores of Chile, so it might take a while.
The costs on the island is very expensive, considering that every grocery is flewn in to the island and not by boat!

Beside all that, go there. It's once in a lifetime experience.

Good luck
