actually, you cant really say what determine the cash you need for the whole trip. the best way is go about doing estimation. for short trips, maybe you can look at an estimation of a week, and if long, how much you would need to spend your one month over there. and from there, you will know roughly how much you need.

when it comes to travelling, money issues are as uncertain as the waves. so, you can only estimate.

hope this helps.

Quoting ozman

There is heaps of fruitpicking work right down along the coast of Queensland. Innisfail has 3 backpackers which exist only to accommodate backpackers there on the harvest trail. Childers is another town that draws a lot of backpackers for that reason. I think you could even find a company that will help you to "follow the fruit."

I don't know how you would go teaching here. I just did two years teaching in the UK; let me just say I don't envy where you are going back to for work.

any idea of a company that will help you "follow the fruit?"

No, but I walked past a travel agent in the main street of Innisfail the other week. There was a poster there with a map of Oz showing where all the work is. Have you had a look on the web?

As for teaching, you must actually register with each state authority for each state you wish to work in; this would turn out to be quite a pain in the proverbial. If you were to dwell in one state it may be worth it however.

£1700 is what i took when i travelled there i managed to do 2-3 weeks up the east coast having a few drinks and sailing snorkeling on the whisundays fraser island , after that i spent 7 months there working most of the time , save as much as possible ,ozzi is cheapish but theres alot thrown at you as a backpacker ,i ts just hard to resist the temptation to visit som many beautiful places.
