milford sound is incredible - i went kayaking there during the summer, not sure what the conditions are like during the winter. i also hiked on fox glacier which was great! might be some fun activites to fit inbetween snowboarding :)

Hey Crazymat,

Another thought. There's another mountain located in between Queenstown and Wanaka called Cardrona. It's an okay mountain (I'd still recommend Treble Cone and The Remarkables the highest) and probably worth a stop if you want to swing another resort. I think it's close to the Snow Park that was previously mentioned. Also along the way from Queenstown to Wanaka is a place called the Cardrona Hotel. I'm not sure I'd recommend staying there (probably a little pricey), but it is a great place to stop in for lunch and a beer.

Also, when you rent your van or car, you might want to inquire as to whether they have any deals with lift tickets. I know that when I was there, some of my friends rented a car and recieved free lift tickets for doing so. Not sure if they still do that or not, but it's worth asking.
