Hello all,
Im travelling round india for a few months and, Im in ajuna now, which isnt that great, and need to get on with moving about. I've only done ajuna so far does anyone have any recommendations for where i really should go in Goa? Thanks, Jack

I wasnt a big fan of Anjuna either. Palolem however was awesome, I would recomend heading there.
I would also recomend picking up a travel guide. I can almost gaurantee that you can find one in Anjuna, and it will save you the hassle of having to get to an internet cafe to find your answers.

Cool thanks. I do have a lonley planet but the problem is it says something good about almost everywhere, so its difficult to sort the good from excellent, from timewasters.

Me neither!! Baga is supposed to be better for partying if that is what you are looking for... Palolem is stunning and by far my favourite place in Goa. Yeah, I didn't find the LP too useful for Goa either.... Maybe you can swap with someone for a different guidebook!!

I started up in northen Goa but got tired of it pretty quickly because I wasn't really in the mood to do a lot partying. Since just relaxing was higher on my list of priorities, I went down the coast to southern Goa where the beaches are deserted. Except for the weekends when a lot of locals and their families come to the beach to hang out.

Out of the beaches in the south that I visited, Palolem was definitely the best. It was gorgeous, tons of great beach huts to eat at and accomodation was pretty cheap. If you do want to go up north (to check out the Anjuna market etc) you can always hire a driver to get you up there for a day or two.

Go to bagha beach or Coco beach ... at coco beach you will not find a single Indian

Oh sure, go to India, Goa and stick to Coco Beach, takes the hassle out of going to India and having to deal with Indians. *pathetic* geez.

Dear All,

strange to find Nika abusing Indians and at the same time recommending people to vist Coco Beach. I feel pity for Nika for behaving in such an uncultured manner... May God enlighten and broaden her outlook so that she learns to respect all human beings......

Warm regards to all

Dear Arif,

If you had actually taken the time to READ what i had written carefully, (and read the comment MADE BEFORE MINE) you would have seen that what I had written was a REPLY to a comment by sam_dhoope (see above) where HE/SHE had recommended going to Coco beach and in so doing need not deal with Indians.

I DID NOT suggest going to Coco Beach (FYI, Ive never even been Goa) I was CRITICISING him/her for suggesting that ppl need not mix with the locals. I thought it was downright rude and ignorant.

Why would I write that such a suggestion was 'pathetic'?

I think you need to read all the comments and take them in before you throw around such accusations. I was making a sarcastic comment, and I think most people saw that.

If theres anyone you should be having a go at, it should be sam_dhoope and NOT ME!!! I was merely the first person offended by his comment.

Dear Nika,

I am really sorry for offending u and i use this forum to tender an unconditional apology for my uncalled for comments. Its true that i didnt read the entire comments before reacting emotionally and offending Nika.
Thanks Nika for being kind enough to clear the whole thing and remove my misgivings. Sorry once again

Warm regards
