I don't mean to embarrass you but I thought I would start a thread asking people what they love about this site.

The things I love about travellerspoint are:

1. Everyone is so much more friendly
2. A trip inspired me to travel, but the people on this site inspired me to travel around the world
3. All the sage advice

It doesn't matter if you are hardcore or not. New members tend to really notice cool things about this site right away.

Peace,
Steph

You just have to look at Mr. Green and that title at the same time. I know it was lame. But I had to do that. Anyway, that smilie kind of looks like Sarah Jessica Parker . . ..

think about it

mmmm, i'll be honest with ya mate, i only clicked it open cuz i saw the word "grass".

Hahahaa....! I opened this thread because the title made me curious!

What I like about TP:
- Yes, I met nice and friendly people here
- I get so much information about travelling and about other places in the world
- I become more excited to travel
- All the practical and helpful advise

Hee hee, the title actually made me wonder as well

Fave things about TP:

- Great people! It's fun to meet people from all over the world that seem very down to earth. Although Daz has a good point, there could be some crazy people out there in TP land, so I'm watching my back tee hee ;)
- Great resources for packing tips, accomodation and other general information in the TP areas
- The forums in general - it's always good to get some first hand experiences from people who have been to the places that you want to go. I just wish I had found this site before I went backpacking last year, it would have really helped!
- And so many other things that I'd be going on for days about....Sam and Pete sound give themselves a huge pat on the back! Yay them! :)

Cheers,
Katie ;)

PS: I'm not sure about the Sarah Jessica Parker thing Steph. If we're talking about celebs, when I see or I would think more along the lines of someone who's had a lot of plastic surgery - Joan Rivers maybe? ;)

For me it's the general feel more than anything else. It's small enough that people can get to know each other and has a sort of family feel, but big enough that there will almost always be somebody out there who can help with whatever your looking for. Most are either so big that they loose the personal touch/people can't really keep up with all the messages posted or too small to have a decent coverage of knowledge.
But there's many more great things going for it, not least Peter and Sam and their constant work on evolving the site.

Btw, Katie, i must say i'm extremely dissapointed - "Although Daz has a good point, there could be some crazy people out there in TP land". That obviously means i've not yet convinced you that i'm crazy yet :( Must try harder...

Hey Steph,
I love the fact that I haven't been on this forum for months because of my evil finals at uni but I've been back on for half an hour and am already excited, inspired and curious about all sorts of stuff and feel at home again!
Really nice to be back guys. Take care,
Lex.
P.S.
Must add a belated congratulations to Sam and his lady!
P.P.S.
By some divine miracle I got a 2:1!!! Now i can get back to the important things in life and go travelling again safe in the knowledge that i never have to write another essay about globalization ever again. Huzzah!

Thankyou gelli!
I was very spoilt by my friends and went to see the Chilli Peppers (supported by James Brown - how cool!) in Hyde Park which was totally amazing! I was especially pleased that we got fantastic sunshine and glastonbury was a mudfest all weekend!
I was extremely excited to read about your alter ego - Mr T. As my long suffering sister will confirm he was my absolute hero as a child. I was the only 5year old girl in school with an A-Team lunchbox! I'm still awaiting the comeback show of my milkdrinking, plane-hating idol. I bet you can use your cartography tools to whip up a battle tank in 35 minutes!
