My boyfriend will be coming to visit me in Singapore in early June this year and will only be staying for 14 days. I want to show him around Singapore for about 4 days and then we want to spend 10 days somewhere elese, either Vietnam or Thailand. We are not wanting to be too rushed but would love to do and see some cultural things.
So the question- what is the best 10 day itinerary for Vietnam or Thailand...??? (On a reasonable budget as well)
Don't know about Vietnam, but a possible 10 day cultural itinerary for Thailan would be:
Bangkok 3 days
Chiang Mai 3 days
Ayyuthaya and Sukhotai 2 days.
This way you will have some extra days for travelling or staying longer in a place if you like.
Maybe start in chiang Mai and make your way down to Bangkok.
You will have a good time on about 30-40 dollar a day!
I think Thailand would be good, for u and your boyfriend, because I dont think Canadians need a visa. Citizens of many countries dont.
U could do what Utrecht says, or instead go South after Bangkok, and hang out on one of the islands. I was on Koh Pha Ngan, the last time I was in Thailand. I recommend it. I was also on Koh Samui. I dont recommend that.
Was Koh Samui a bit of a disappointment? Haven't been there, but I hear lots of people who have liked it.
It is no longer hippy heaven.
I stayed on Hat Buphut beach. It is one of the quieter beaches. It was full of those awful health resorts.
They are practically tearing up the whole island to build concrete hotels and houses for rent and sale.
Getting around the island is also very expensive. The public transport that used to be there, is not anymore, so one must hire a taxi, to get anywhere.
i havent been to Koh Samui myself yet...but all my friends who just came back from there said that it is GREAT! maybe it has more tourists than any of the other islands but maybe that it because its the one island that has more zip, things to do and see, and scenary very nice...so im told
