I have a little question about air berlin. I am planning on going from London to Helsinki with Air berlin, and I wanted to know if it was a secure company.. I am not scared of taking planes, but since I don't know european companies, maybe someone can tell me how this one is.
Yep it is perfect, I traveled from Düsseldorf to Helsinki last year, and from Copenhagen back to Düsseldorf. It might not always be the cheapest company, but service is good.
Note that the airport in Helsinki is a little bit outside of the city, so you need to take a bus from the airport to the city. And make sure that you can look outside the window, when approaching Helsinki, you can see al these tiny islands in front of the coast.
Don't stay at the Olympic stadion hostel.

But, is there any other cheap hostel in Helsinki, because the Olympic stadion one was the cheapest I found... I am just stopping by for a few days, I am going to St-Petersburg for a study program overthere.
Yes there are others, including one on the fortress Island Suomenlinna http://www.suomenlinna.fi/index.php?menuid=29&lang=eng, and I heared people that where staying there longer (students, that didn't find accomodation yet), talking about the Eurohostel. You can find it on www.hostelworld.com. (and several others)
The Stadion, had really bad beds, even a couple of strechers, they put up, to have more people in one room, than normally. Shower curtains, that disappeared. It was not clean at all. And the youth of Helsinki, decided to use the parking lot of the hostel as a racetrack on Fridaynight until 2.00, making the rooms smell after petrol and rubber (not mentioning the noise), not very pleasant when you are trying to sleep. I was really pleased with my hotel bed in Türkü after staying there for 4 nights. I slept like a baby ... It's better to spend a few euros more for a better place, than this. But book pretty early, because hostels tend to fill up quite quickely in Helsinki.
Air Berlin is considered the best mid-price airline in Europe. Slightly better than Easyjet and that's saying something.
Just deleted everything I said, because i described Germanywings, instead of AirBerlin, by mistake.
