Travel Forums Africa and The Middle East Back from Kenyan Safari

I'm back from the Kenyan Safari and just want to give a shout out for Paul with Tropical Adventures! He has been wonderful to work with, reliable, friendly and he made sure our safari was top-notch!

The drive was long from one park to the other (usually 7 hours) but once we got to each of the national game parks, it was worth the travel time! We saw the big 5 and more - lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and the cape buffalo (it did take going to all 3 game parks to see all the animals). Our safari package included Samburu, Lake Nakuru and Maasai Mara! What an awesome trip.

The best part of the trip was getting caught in the midst of the elephants defending their young against the lions...we actually had to boogey out of the elephants way in our mini-van - caught that on video!

The lodges were very comfortable they even had misquito nets up (don't forget to bring insect repellant) and the food, food was great (they had a bit of everything)!

Although I went during what is suppose to be the 'dry season' we had some rain at the national parks which was fine cause our safari mini-van was a 4 wheel drive. For those who had 2 wheel drives, they had a bit more difficulties with the dirt roads! This was something I didn't know to ask before-hand...but Paul was on the ball, he made sure we were prepared to weather the storm!

If anyone is interested in the kenyan safari and would like Paul's contact information just let me know!

Sounds like a great trip! I never got to see the leopard when I was in Tanzania, so can only check 4 of the big 5 off.

So, are you going to share some pictures with us?

Greg

This one is very good in Tanzania. Had a driver, named Paul as well! We did see some leopards, although in a distance in a tree.

We used them and the guy we had was excellent. Didnt speak much english, but he had the eyes of an eagle.

We'd be driving along, all of us in the truck with our binoc's looking out for the big cats, then next thing the driver breaks. we all get excited, thinking there must be something close! driver points in the distance and after 5 minutes one of us finally sees them!

those guys must go to binocular class when they're young and get they're eyes extended!

never got to see a leopard either tho!

did any of you guy's get an opportunity to do a night safari?
