Thats a tight budget. But as Wouter says, u probably could do it.
Dont forget, to keep some money, for the airport tax, when u are leaving.

What airport tax? I thought it was always included in the ticket. I never paid airport tax as an extra!!! Is this new?

That's a pretty tight budget with approx. INR 700 per day but I think you can manage it if you are stringent on your accommodation and food requirements and use the bulk for the transport costs, which are pretty high for city-to-city travel.

And, as Wouter said, there is no airport tax now. A couple of years ago, taxes were paid separately at the airport but now, it is included in the tickets.

Have fun in India!

Airport tax was included in the price of my ticket when I was in India last June, so maybe when Mel last went she did have to pay at the airport like you do in some places like Cambodia and New Zealand.

Sometimes it's not included, doesn't make a difference really.
That's about 500 euro for 6 weeks...can anyone tell me what you get for that kinda money?

That is like 12 euro's a day. In India that is a good budget. I had days that I spend only 6 or 7 euro's a day. At the end the average will be around 12 euro a day. And that includes everything (except the flight ofcourse). India is very cheap.

Ok, thanks, but what do you really get for that kinda money? Decent room and food and transport?
