Hi im planning on travelling through thailand backpacking for two month this year, i will be living quite cheap and staying in guesthouses/hostels. can someone please tell me if £1500 will be enough? thanks in advance for your help. James.

for two months the amount of money you are taking is more then enough. You will live like a king in the country of the eternal smile, especially if you have purchased your ticket already.

That is more than enough James.
In fact that is double the daily budget I had, when I was in Thailand, last November. And that was between me and my daughter.

But if u are planning to have a really good time, and spend all your money, remember to keep some, for the airport departure tax.

In Thailand there is an seperate airport tax? Because you said the same about india and that is not true. 10 years ago it was but not now anymore.

Since 1st Feb 700baht airport duty included in air ticket fare so only need enough for snacks or drinks before departure. Cheapest to buy these in the familymart shop in the check-in area at the new airport(if it hasn't all sunk back into the swamp its built on before then).

I flew from Chiang Mai to Luang Prabang in January and I was charged 500 baht in airport tax at Chiang Mai airport.
