yeah quick posts - i should get back to work.
my daily budget was about 15 dollars - BUT if u wanna drink and party u may need about 30 for a good time. still a beer costs about 1 dollar
Other expenses...most of the sites are free or cheap.
Brasov hasd a cool Cathedral Sigi has an amazing castle.
what do you mean watch out for the romanian girls?
hmm... many friends of mine fall in love with romanian girls and actually one of them wanted to marry on. I understand them, I’m married to a Romanian so no comment…
yeah i did. im on my way back soon.
I'll be leaving my girlfriend back in the UK, I recon I can stay faithful.. :P
So does that 30 bucks per day include travel and everything?
'cause that's seriously amazing..
How long would I want to spend?
Is like 8 days enough to see turkey, greece and romania?
Also - how long would it take to travel between one place and the next?
(and thanks SO MUCH for all this help peeps, it's greaT)
no 30 bucks is for accomadation- food - drinks - clubs.
u can get by on half that if u arent goin out so much to party.
travel is a bit more - but im sorry i dont recall train prices. I know its cheap though.
8 days maybe tough though - the distances really arent that close. and border crossings usually delay train rides as well. I waited on the Hungarian/Romanian border for an hour once.
i prefer 8 days in one place.
romania is kinda where I really wanna be, but I'd like to see a little bit of turkey and greece...
Would it be crappy to spend a night in the latter two and then sod off up to romania and spend the rest of the week there?
And yeah again sorry - how long would it take by train between all these places?
Probably you will make up your mind when you are on the road but still you should see Ankara and then Romania .
Sorry I really don’t know how much the train costs…
Were would you like to go in Romania?
There should be a section to this site for stricly eastern euro discussion
All agreed, Romania is the shizzle. The whole Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria and Romania trek is incrediable. Granted the appeal of riding the famous Orient Express cannot be denied, however the buses are alot cheaper and are 10X better then any Greyhound bus ride here (they have bus stewartess'). I got lucky and hitched a ride on a car/ferry in Turkey. The wait at the border to cross into Bulgaria was 8 hours since the lineup of cars to cross was 4 km long. Turkey is unreal. Most underrated travel destination really. Romania was best party bang for the buck. Prostitution is an epidemic in some sections, so naturally STDs can be a problem, what can anyone say... just be safe and not stupid. Seriously, get me on a plane or a boat over there!!
yap! you're right there should be a new thread for Eastern Europe. Many people don't even heard about these countries, but still some of them love this part of Europe.
