Hello everyone!~ It's Leechian here from Malaysia. I would like to know if anyone has ever applied for visa to the US? I am currently applying and I have to go for visa application interview this April and I would like to know what I should be prepared for. I am going to visit my boyfriend there and then intern for 5 months in a non-profit company in Florida. The personnel in the company told me that I can get a B-2 visa for internships, as it is for education tourism. However, I would like to hear from anyone who has been through this before. I would like to know more on how I can ensure myself in getting a visa for 8-9 months. I hope someone can help me out here!
Maybe an idea would be to post this on the Asia branch asking fellow Malaysian people, because American citizens obviously wouldn't need to apply for an American visa and certainly not know what happens in Malaysia with regards to US visas. I think one of the things you'd definitely need for a visa is proof of having a solid amount of finance as well as having proof that you have a home to come back to, a family to come back to so that they won't suspect you of overstaying your visa. Maybe an idea would be to call the American embassy that you'd be going and ask what sort of requirements are needed for a visa to be granted. Goodluck with the whole process.

Check with 'danalasta' and 'zanif'. Both Malaysians and both have been to the US or have family members that travelled here. I met both here in Vegas, so it cannot be that difficult to get a visa. They will know the ins/outs of the US visa.
thank you!! i'll definitely check with them. really do appreciate it
