Hi and greetings from Finland!

I've been in Cuba 4 times, mainly in Havana. I love the music, the way of life and the rhytms. this time I'm going to do it differently, flying to end of May to Santiago de Cuba and travel from there to Havana. I've been spending my nights in reading travel guides and trying to spot places from the map...

One of my dreams is to go by motorbike from Santiago to Havana. I have like 5-7 days for that trip. It is about 1000 km and looks there is a straight way, but would not like to do it fast way...

has anyone done that kind of trip? Or should I rent a car? Anything to recommend for visit between Santiago and Havana?

Any tips welcome!

Cheers,
Aki

The road between Santiago and Havana is in a good condition generally so you won't have any problems. I guess a motorbike would be even better, it's easier to avoid potholes. Just don't speed.

A nice town to chill for a day would be Camaguey. And of course Trinidad and the surrounding beaches and mountains. The road from Camaguey to Trinidad is in a good condition as well.

In the centre of Cuba the road becomes a highway. Maybe you can visit Santa clara as well, where Che Guavara's memorial is.

Have fun!
