We are not sure where in Germany to visit or Switzerland or Belgium.

We love Christmas and have heard that Germany goes all out for Christmas ..... any help will be greatly appreciated....also If anyone wants to meet along our journey this would be most spectacular!

Thanks again

well, an x-mas market here that is (supposibly) one of the most interesting/best ones is the market in tübingen (baden-würtemberg, an hour south of stuttgart). this year it will be held from the 10th till the 12th of december. the thing that is special about that market is, that no commercial traders are allowed there, so only students (high-school/college), good-cause organisations, church-communities, etc. are allowed to sell anything there. keeps up the spirit of x-mas!
close to tübingen is a town called hechingen where the castle of the hohenzollern-family is located. very worth seeing, nice view from there, especially when its a snowy/sunny day.
of course i think that my home area (north of germany) is also very worth seeing at every time of the year, so you might want to consider this as well... there are x-mas markets in almost every town during this time - lüneburg is also supposed to host a nice one. yet the weather might seem not as friendly up here as it is mostly rainy (sometimes snow) here in december.

need any more info? send me a msg. but i'll be out of town for the next 8 days, so just be patient for that time... ill answer when i get back!
greetz, nils

Hi John,

Germany in December ist really a good chance to visit the christmas markets. One that I can recommend is in Frankfurt.

Anyway, if you want to see a lot of Germany and to get a different kind of inpressions you should visit Berlin and Munich as well. Berlin is beautiful, so is Munich, but they are totally different. Another good place is Cologne and Duesseldorf. If you hire a car, you will get lots of impressions of the countryside in Germany.

If you need more help, please contact me!
